CGC calling FCBD first full Virus

I don’t have the issue in front of me yet, but from the spoilers on the main site it mentioned the character was “still unnamed” and none of the spoiler panels mentioned codex.

But now I see in the comments it states:

“I mean Codex IS named by the Symbiote Avengers in the book. They call him “Codex”. but in terms of his true identity, yes we have no clue. Im guessing this is what you were referring to.”

But it’s a moot point…you don’t need to be named for it to be a full appearance. Appearances are visual, not verbal. That was the point I was trying to make.

I can’t because I don’t have my books for this week yet I am in quarantine or I was I tested negative but I can when I get it for sure. You can watch the YouTube vid of the entire issue and see it right now tho I’ll link it one sec

I’m saying based on current market standards it’s ALMOST always the case that you must be in full and named in story with multiple panels to not be cameo. Not saying it makes the most sense or is correct or anything like that I understand your logic in the matter.

It’s like a paragraph explanation trying to say see we weren’t wrong but you just dig your grave deeper than just putting 1st full appearance of Virus on the slab.

We already have several hundred of each of the FCBD titles left at our physical stores, so if I need/want any Spider-Man ones I’ll just pull some from those stashes since we can’t have them in the back rooms forever!

Also of note…Venom 26 isn’t first distributed app. Venom 25 is. So their paragraph isn’t even right.

Nobody is debating that… Venom #25 is the first appearance, doesn’t have to be a first full… it’s still an appearance since umm… you know… the character appeared in it. :wink:

CGC doesn’t even note Venom 25 as the first appearance, even in cameo. CBCS does though:

CBCS also calls Venom 26 the first “full appearance” of Virus. The whole idea of first appearance vs. first cameo vs. first full is crazy to me, especially so soon after it happens. The market ends up deciding which is the most important in the long run anyway.

No one is debating that. The Venom 26 label above says first distributed app and I’m pointing out that’s wrong as Virus was in Venom 25 which was obviously distributed first.
