This one has gone up quite a bit recently, I knew where this cheap one was had to get it now or never.
When I think of Agent Poyo, I immediately think of a feces covered 5 gallon bucket. Maybe have Poyos Bucket of Approval that also has Anthony’s endorsement as he bought it for you.
No way I’m buying the slab without detailed photos.
Go on a site like mycomicshop that has the same book in the same grade and look at them. There is normally one more desirable looking than the other.
Not every defect is created equal to every person. Some people hate stamps, rarely do they bother me if in an inconspicuous place. On the other hand, spine rolls are my pet peeve. If it comes down to two books graded 7.5 and one has bad spine roll, I’ll pass on it.
I have a silver age Fantastic four with cream to OW pages, but cover is very beautiful. Some want off-white or better. I bought to hang on my wall as art basically, I don’t care what color the interior pages are.
If I’m buying 9.8, that thing better looking immaculate; otherwise, I’m not paying premium prices. I realize bindery tears are allowed but if it looks bad, I’m gonna be a snob and pass regardless of what CGC thinks.
Lastly, there are so many books with such a large supply, why should I have to accept some lame version of a 9.8???
Books came back from CGC today! Was hoping for 9.6 on the 180 but not disappointed. The FF48 came back as predicted. Love the Wolverine and Silver Surfer labels!!
The character labels are cool…if you’re ok with them displacing the “key” information about the book to the back of the label.
That’s when I decided not to do them anymore. I have a nice Iron Man 283 9.8 with the iron man icon.
I think the character label is visually displaying the key information. But yeah I don’t know why they moved the ‘key’ info to the back. On these books it doesn’t matter as much bec the characters who first appear are on the labels, but in most cases you’d want the text.
That Hulk 180 is on fire right now. Congratulations for the 9.4!!!
Thanks! I found this in the wild and pressed and cleaned it myself, so it’s a special moment for me. Easily the most valuable comic I now own.
Yeah and it keeps going up too! I don’t think I’m going to get a 9.0, but I’m hoping for a 7.0…I bought it raw for $350, so fingers crossed! Love hearing stories like this!
Wow that’s a steal. At current prices I don’t think you can get a 0.5 for $350… Btw I love the grades 7.0 and 7.5 on older books.
Nice haul. I currently have my IH180 at CGC, but mine is not even remotely close to a 9.4. Congratulations.
Thanks man. When I found it, I knew it had potential to get into the 9s. It had a VG sticker on it. Hope yours comes back higher than expected.
@myrontay Great timing! Beautiful books. Just imaging what these are going to do with our eventual first glimpse of either Thrawn or Aphra (or even Mara Jade). To the Moon!!!
Two of my 4 Strange Tales books came in! These are First Appearance Umar. Other two are Strange Tales 126 for the first appearances of Clea and Dormammu… these are cool books to have, but also speccing into Doctor Strange’s character being more involved in the future…let’s see!
Here are my pics. On closer inspection these don’t appear to be scratches on the foil, but some blemish perhaps on the inner well. I see it on the black part of the book as well…so I’m note sure What it is…I hope its not so kind of mold…doesn’t seem likely as I’ve had these a few years and it doesn’t look any different.
I’m not sure if I should try to sell them like this, or get then realabbed.
Looks like a 9.6 to me.
I mean… y’know… CGC says so; so it must be.
Update on turnaround times. The listed times now start from day of delivery not day of check in.
