CGC pickups

So I bought that book when I was 12 in 1988.
Totally forgot all about it until I found a box at my parents house.
I immediately sent it off to cgc without checking on the centerfold.

Didn’t know being incomplete can drop a low-mid grade to .5. Damn that harsh.

I paid for more than half that Sgt Fury #1 with sales from Captain Carter #1 and Avengers Forever #1

Yeah I had no idea either lol.
It was quite the shock when I saw it.

I thought incomplete usually meant a Qualified label? Is it because it’s whole pages missing, not pieces of a page(s)? I agree that seems harsh.

My first silver age slab arrived today.

I believe qualified is reserved for complete books that have some sort of defect that doesn’t take away from the grade. Such as someone’s name written on the cover.

A book that is gem mint can still be a 0.5 incomplete if pages of the story are missing.

Got in some interesting slabs today. Now, I know we all love to :poop: on Cates from time to time, but I thought these were super interesting so picked them up. Some of his personal comp copies signed and slabbed by CGC.

That’s neat, I didn’t know that was a notation they make.

There was no way to have the cover reattached? I’ve seen them give higher grades to books missing pieces. Very nice all around.

Not without conservation… the spine is almost completely split, like about 3/4th from bottom to top. Displays higher though

What’s going on with Miraculous? I only ask because my daughter found that show on Disney and it is pretty rough to watch as an adult hahHa

All 4 of my kids love it. It’s not horrible, and as long as it keeps them entertained
