Are these signing events even worth it? I frequent big cons and am usually able to get their sigs anyways. never did the math to see if it’s better at this point?
Now that a lot of creators charge more for CGC sig, does the JSA authentication seem like a better deal? Curious to know everyone’s take

The CGC signing events are sooooooooo overpriced compared to obtaining the signature at a convention and getting the book graded.
The only time I have used the CGC signing events is for the big big big names like McFarlane who is so hard to get at a convention.
“Regular” artists that don’t draw a crowd and routinely attend conventions? - its better to just wait for when they come in the area and get them.
Of course, I am speaking from a standpoint of being in the northeast Tri-state area so i’m quite blessed with the biggest of big names to come around locally.
To @Bill ’s point, if you don’t want to spend $$$ to buy tickets to a con, maybe hotel and transportation fees, etc, I can see it being worth it to those that have to have a signature and on a specific book.
But if you’re doing it to make money…well, think about everyone else sending those same books in to get signed just like you and they’ll get them back at the same time as you…eBay gets flooded…I don’t see the attraction from a business perspective…

I plan on seeing him at NYCC and getting a book or two signed. I won’t be paying $110. But I won’t be getting it slabbed, much less a CGC slab.

I just typed that in on trying to upgrade to Elite and it brought the quoted price down to $253.
Edit: YMMV. I’m a premium member so that’s why it’s not the price of $329 minus $50.
