Don’t know a single person that has ever used them, seen a lot of people talk about how good they are, how much better their slabs were etc but when the time came the roads led back to CGC
surprised they lasted that long, I’ve never liked their label design.
Well, all it will take is for one bug or glitch that needs to be fixed to keep it going…and someone to say “we got no budget for that…shut it down!”
I haven’t submitted in forever but they were way better at grades and the slabs were pretty solid. No complaints here. And I used them when it started in 2014. I was a forum member but fell off several years ago. Steve Borock popped on the thread and mentioned looking for a podcast to talk about what happened to CBCS when he was owner.
Like @infinityG I started with them when they first started. I was a signature verification person as well. Then they took that away from people it stung. I have a long history with CBCS that I haven’t talked about much, including at one point they were in talks with me about buying the site, and then Beckett bought them and all talks died off. With Bleeding Cool being a CGC official site, CBCS was looking to do the same and a lot of people had talked to them about me. In fact, it was announced right during thanksgiving that Beckett was buying them, the meeting I had scheduled with them was canceled. Broke my heart.
That sucks. Hopefully someone else will wanna partner with you in the future! Get us some free corn dogs from a corn dog company (mine need to be beef-free due to allergies). For real tho, the site and forum rock.
You should have seen what their web guys had whipped up.
Huh? For someone who claims to not be very technical… you sure? ![]()
in some way i’m kinda glad you didn’t sell the site lol nothing personal!
the corporate take over would have made me leave. it just ruins things.
as a collector, this is a real community here, that’s why I love the site.
Oh man, you should seriously try the Morningstar Farms Vegan Corndogs… They’re actually really effing good!
The discussion was to be about a buy out or a sponsorship and complete rehaul of the site. Back when the site was very basic. Before Poyo even jumped on. The idea would be to keep me on in a paid position if they bought it. But it all fell through so in the end it doesn’t matter. Good thing too because who knows what would have happened now.
Like all things that seem like a good idea on buyout or acquisitions, they would have probably shut it down long ago…
I tried a veggie burger for the first time and it was so effin good. Also, there is a deli by my work that makes a bomb as veggie sandwich…
To bad I like meat
lol. I’m like the lady from Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I see the steak in front of me and like a savage go after it lol. ![]()

The brand Just makes this new chicken that I swear tastes and feels like actual chicken. I swear if you came to my house for dinner, you’d have no idea that you weren’t actually eating real meat. ![]()
I like to think you would have saved CBCS….with CHU’s reach to the comic speculator/consumer it would have brought it so much more revenue for them, resulting in equalized competition with CGC and competitive pricing on the seconds markets.
But no one had that vision but @Anthony . Pushing you away is the sole reason, key decision, that enables CBCS failure.

Talk about dancing on someone’s grave.
Seems tone-deaf and unnecessary. I guess they can’t really let their product do the talking anymore, though. Just another unforced error by CGC.
You need to trust that the grading service is accurate. You also need to trust that the grading service treats your collectibles with care.

Between this Eichenbaum douche and lying ass Matt Nelson, I feel like I’m back in my big business role where words were everything; and everything else was nothing.
Hey Eichenbaum - fix your damn product!

Maybe you should display your metrics/stats on volume of CGC submissions the last couple years.
Unfortunately they don’t fit that description.
And honestly, why do you need to know that grading service will be around in the future? Once they’ve graded a comic the job is done. Whole pace could burn down and it doesn’t change what that book is. Still need to buy the book, not the plastic case or paper label.
