It is what it is. Imo, good speculation is based in fact. I, as a speculator, do not buy books with 1sts in them, and then try to pass that character off as another character, when the latter character becomes ‘relevant’. Idk, thats just me. The whole eye colour thing was just one clue to who this ‘Benjy’ character is. Poyo added some more clues, and very quickly we came to the conclusion that this is a new ‘Benjy’ character. It didnt take much thought or time. That, in a nutshell, is good speculation. Ignoring the facts and to just go with what others tell you, is irresponsible, imo. When I first mentioned the ‘eye colour’ thing, I was simply trying to get to the truth using clues and ‘evidence’ that were presented. I am unsure as to why some were trying to ignore the facts and make assumptions, just to suit their narrative. To each their own. We will have to live with agreeing to disagree on this one. Cheers, fellas.
Yes. Insufficient evidence to come to a firm conclusion. But it does not say anything about ignoring the few firm facts that are available. Speculating while ignoring the few facts that are available is bad speculation, imo.
I have no problems with people buying and selling any books, for any reason. That is not the issue at hand, imo. My problem is us talking about SG59 like it is actually the same Benjy character. Imo, there was sufficient evidence to say that the two Benjys were different characters. To me, that should have been the end of the discussion, and we should be focusing on the character for who he is, and not what we want/wish him to be. Again, we will have to agree to disagree.
