I’ve often wondered if a latter print could really be called a “first appearance” seeing as they generally come out weeks or months later.

They aren’t. The reason they are desirable is separate from the first appearance aspect. It comes down to print runs and how scarce that particular cover is.

They are a reprint of the first appearance.
They will do something with aphra eventually.
When it happens it will be big.
Just think how many people are in love with ahsoka that had no previous knowledge of her before the mandalorian.

Everyone realizes that 1st prints are technically not authentic 1st appearances either. The original art holds that honor.

Just got my copy of Vader 3 in a couple of days ago, finally got around to some halfway decent pics. I’d love an opinion on a grade. I’m leaning toward 9.6 at least.
I know it sounds lame, but I’m honestly nervous to handle the book. I don’t like taking it out of the B&B, so I slid the board up a bit and took pics of the back cover.
I also got Vader 1 in the deal and it is also in very similar condition.
Color rub on back is what you need to look for, especially around spine

I don’t see any, and if there is some it I’d very minor, based on the images and were sent to me and from what I can see in person… but I’m also baby-ing the hell out of this book. I’m trying not to handle it too much.
If I decide to do my first submission to CGC, it’ll be this book and maybe one of my Hell Arisen copies (hoping for a 9.8 Punchline)
I get that like for my special books. I get this irrational fear they’re going to somehow rip or crumble into pieces!
