DC Heating UP

It’s cool, but less zany than the recent ones with Harley Quinn.

MCS sure jumps on the hype train…

Weird they dont have the Black Adam #2 1:50 listed.

A Fine copy for $54… :expressionless:

Oh, it’s fine.

You all want to hear my story about MCS again and why I don’t shop there? Muhahahaha…

The answer is no, everyone.

I’m going to send you a DM cause I know you want to hear and read it again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. Have to actually search for that instead of looking on the New Releases section.

Still too pricey

Yeah it is pricey but still cheaper than the prices being realized on Ebay. They also have to Star Wars #25 1:50 for $32 (in 9.2) which isn’t too bad.

For the Black Adam, I guess it really comes down to how long this character will stick around if $75 to $100+ is worth the price of admission. If he does nothing the book is $20 in two years. If he is used a lot and gains some popularity, then he has the potential to become the next Tosin…I mean Miles.

You can tell it again for new members if you want. I recall they enraged you quite a bit!

Enraged… meh… lost me as a customer for life, most certainly.

After a friend of mine watched the Black Adam trailer and thought they were watching a trailer for the Scorpion King 6, I have no hope for the Black Adam movie and any Black Adam character.

It really depends. Black Adam is a DCU film, and most have been pretty meh. IF this film is just average as far as superhero movies go than it will be a success in my book. Also, it is the Rock so there will be a ton of attention toward it.

More than likely Black Adam will not be a one and done character. Expect to see him in a few films at least. That will always bring attention to his collectibles. Hopefully, with the Rock’s star power DC can get its act together and start something closer to what Marvel has with cohesion of all their films and the characters within.

Sounds like a stupid friend…

I heard her friends are on the brilliant side. They just have an unnatural, undying hatred for movie trailers.

I just can’t figure out how one would confuse the trailer for Black Adam with The Scorpion King…

It’d be like me watching the trailer for Top Gun: Maverick and saying its a trailer for Mission Impossible… two totally and completely different movies, just the same lead actor.

Well, looking back at MCS they have two of the Black Adam #2 1:50 for sale at $75. All others have sold. They are tight graders (usually) so the 9.2 copies are most likely higher.

I really do not like paying more than ratio for any variant. In the past the times that I have paid over ratio I could have gotten the same books for less had I waited. That is pretty common except for one or two times. On the fence with this one. IF DC really pushes him that book could get big. What to do, what to do.

A concern I have is that people who aren’t familiar with the characters and comics will think Black Adam is ripping off Marvel. Atom Smasher = Ant/Giant-Man, Dr. Fate = Doctor Strange, etc. They won’t realize that Marvel based their characters off of these DC characters. It will create bad word of mouth and the film’s success will suffer for it.

I think there will be those out there like that but for the most part I think the general movie audience that isn’t familiar with comic book characters but enjoys comic book movies won’t care all that much about DC/Marvel similarities. It is possible but is it enough to hurt the movie. Time will tell on that one.
