Every time i think ive seen the ultimate in kookiness im pleasantly surprised i havent.

It has been going on in the baseball card world for a long while.
I love watching people open pristine packs of 52 Topps or 51 Bowman trying to get a Mickey Mantle just to be disappointed and ruining the value of what they had.

I still collect and play but two a lesser degree.

Holy cow…there was a release of foul Buzz and Woody playing mats at Disney Springs today and the lines were insane. I can’t imagine waiting in that. It looked like it was a mile long. Winding through stairs and a parking garage.
While I think the actual playing of the game has slowed, the collecting and interest, fandom is still very strong.
I can’t imagine what the special Buzz card in this set will hit. A couple thousand easy.

I think the same thing happened with Pokemon. Sure there are still a good amount of players out there that actually play but I feel like I run into more “collectors only” than players. Shoot, I even have my stack of cards I’ve obtained myself and the packs are fun to open.

Disney fans can be on another level. I saw a crazy line early waiting for a special pin drop. I think that was at Disney Springs as well. We’ve been going for a week each year for a few years now - some people really have the Disney bug and are committed to grabbing special edition and limited drop stuff.
This is the first year we haven’t gone. We’ve already booked our 2027 trip, but my wife is still trying to rearrange our calendars so we can fit in a trip this year, lol, so who knows.

Gave it a shot but no luck. I’m more of a collector than player now, and while I didn’t that specific card I did get plenty of other nice cards (I limit myself to no more than two boxes per release).
If you find boxes or troves of the latest release “wilds unknown” I would recommend snagging them and holding
The Buzz iconic is now fetching 12k-15k and rising.
There are a few are cards fetching good amounts.
This is the first set to bring in Pixar and Disney fans love those properties. I’ve seen box prices almost double in the last few weeks.
Anyway, for what it’s worth.

I’m starting to see a pretty fair push of folks and some of the Pokemon crowd move into Lorcana.
Clearly I’ve always been a fan, but I’m not saying this to hype it…just an observation.
The last set is nowhere to be found & some of the different reels and groups related to Pokemon are talking about it.
It’s sort of interesting to see.
Disney fans are a different breed for sure.

I’ve been following and involved in the market. Have some really nice PSA 10 enchanteds. The sealed market seems to be picking up now, while the singles went to the moon quickly, seem to be coming back down a little. Once again, like we’ve seen on certain books in the comic market, seems there’s a shortage of product in other countries.
