eBay Headaches

Is that a typo or is the comic spelled slightly differently than the amorous act? Cuz, that sounds…different.

May have been a typo. But it is the same as the act. It was done by the guys who did the book Good Boy (the John Wick Dog book) and they gave me copies. Not something I want to keep so off to Mercari it went (spelled correctly)

Sounds bizarre and weird, so I approve.

If comics aren’t a luxury…they must be a necessity !!

They are certainly not a necessity.

LOL, What a weird set of restrictions, You must spend $500, you only get 15% off the first $500 and nothing off anything above $500.

But you can used it 3x on $500 items

I think the coupon is capped at a maximum value of $500…so it can be used for items up to $3333.33 before hitting the ceiling.

At least that’s how I read it.

Edit: confirmed. But now I’m going to get all these adds for purses…

Wow, not how I read it, but you are right, I guess the Min Max thing threw me off. I can’t believe that someone at eBay marketing read through that and said, “Wow, that’s crystal clear!”

What did you buy?

I saw a 15% coupon and got excited like it was the old days with random 10% off goodness. Meh.

eBay stopped giving out any coupon that can be used for comics for years, on top added Sales tax for every order… $15 Off order $100+ order was very common. Missed the good old days where I can get a MCD combo for < $10. Shoot that was just 10 yrs ago…

Anyone remember eBay Bucks!?

I didn’t buy anything…just through a “luxury” purse into my cart and plugged in the coupon to see what the discount would be.

But I’m sure I’ll get a a lot of coupons for purses and clothes now that I clicked on one…

Still waiting on a coupon that works for comics, though…only been about 5 years…maybe more?

Yes…I think the opportunity to cash in on any left over was 6 months ago?

I’ve spent a week being bombarded by one user over and over (somehow well beyond their 3 offer limit) with lowball offers for a <£10 comic.

Finally accepted a reasonable offer of £7.50, dispatched promptly in a board-backed envelope with cardboard insert to secure the comic - having had no issues with such packaging for lower-value items previously - and lo and behold, it’s allegedly arrived damaged.

How do you all deal with these situations? The customer has been on eBay for 4 years, bought 2 car parts and a Pokemon card prior to dealing with me, and have never left feedback. Considering a full refund and a block to go with it, just to be done with it.

Under $10, refund and block. Not worth your time for further hassles. Just do what I do, when someone sends a lowball offer (>50%), i block them especially for books under $10. These are the people that will give you the most problems.

Unfortunately it is not worth it to fight about it. Once they claim damaged you will have to pay for shipping back if you want the book back and eBay will still force you to refund once you get it back. You can go through an appeal process but from what I understand once eBay gets involved it is a strike against your account no matter if the buyer was found to be at fault. That is the insult to the injury of having to pay for return shipping and resell and the fees for the dispute charged by eBay if they side with the buyer, etc. Just not worth for low priced books.

Block and move on, and then if you wish post the eBay name so we can all do the same.

Or offer a partial refund and see if he accepts it. That way you get to keep some of the money or at least recoup your initial shipping cost.

At this point, like you said, low value so not worth too much time. Just refund and block. Letting others know the username may not help you but, but probably other sellers down the line.
