Why is it so hard to be honest? Apologize and say âIâve had a change of mind.â Everyone can understand that. But no, gotta go there and contradict yourselfâŠ
Block that dude.

Iâd imagine he was being honest⊠despite his own offer, probably thought it was too expensive then even⊠and changed his mind after not expecting Anthony to accept but he wasnât being honest with himself when he was throwing out the offer. But all too often, most people shouldnât be online shopping anyways⊠living in a world of buy now, pay later and a majority of folks living paycheck to paycheck⊠itâs the American Dream⊠and itâs mostly peopleâs own faults!
He ended up buying it from me off Mercari. lol.
Did he know it was the same item??
Yes.
Question for you guys. When someone makes an offer on your item, does it not always show up on your order/sold page as item sold and awaiting payment? Thatâs how it always used to be for me but lately Iâm noticing that only sometimes it shows up.
I had someone make me an offer for all 15 copies (nothing big), I accepted the offer but it doesnât show up on my orders page as sold awaiting payment. My listing for that item is still active for other buyers. I have to go into my messages and the offer again to see that the item is pending and awaiting payment. This is odd that itâs still active for other buyers because if someone buys a copy, then it will mess up the inventory on the sale.
Anyone else get this lately, I donât remember this happening in the past.
I canât say that Iâve ever had an offer for multiple copies of an item, so I donât speak to that, but when its a single, it has always shown as sold as soon as I accept an offer. I get an email that says Iâve made the sale within seconds and its removed from the inventory.
Yeah thatâs how itâs always been for me. But now Iâm seeing it more and more that it doesnât always show up as sold item now. Thought maybe ebay implemented this change because of non payment from buyers. I had someone made me an offer on my Monsters 1 and didnât pay for 5 days. Was annoyed that the inventory for that book was held up for 5 days while copies were selling like hotcakes. Worked out for me though, once I relisted it sold for double the offer.
Thought maybe this was new and ebay views the item as still active for sale until a payment is made. Only problem with that though is I see the item is still active and if someone new buys a copy and the original buyer pays for the 15 copies then there will be an inventory issue.
I complained about this awhile ago. Until the buyer pays itâs available for others to buy at the same price. Not sure how it works with multiple items. Iâd hope eBay thought it through and made it so if someone else buys it they have to take the same deal.
Is this on ebay? I think its something new where you accept the offer but anyone who was watching also has the opportunity to purchase at your accepted price. Whoever pays first gets the item. As a seller Ive had instances where i accept but until they pay anyone can swoop in to buy at your original asking or your offer price. As a buyer i notice where i receive an offer, sometimes i will counter and they accept but unlike in the past its not in my basket waiting for me to checkout. Couple times someone else swooped in and bought it for the price i had countered
Sounds awesome.
Reinforces why I donât do best offers.
In theory the buyer gets their moneyâŠbut if you had âfree shippingâ and someone from farther away swoops in, raising the shipping costsâŠwell, thatâs not the offer you agreed to.
Yes ebay. Itâs so convoluted.
So ebay has this new thing that if a buyer wins an auction, ebay requires automatic payments within the hour. Thatâs why they ask you for your payment info before you bid.
This is good for sellers as you wonât have to deal with non paying buyers. A lot of buyers donât know this as Iâve been getting a lot of messages from buyers asking for combine shipping because theyâre bidding on multiple auctions.
So now the buyer has to pay a ton in shipping fees as theyâre bidding per book. I will have go through the orders to refund them the difference. Thereâs got to be an easier way. How would a giant shop like MCS deal with this when they have thousands of auctions?
Mycomicshop doesnât do auction, fixed price only.

Ahh, now I know why, ![]()
Speaking about combined shipping, has Ebay made it so you can combine purchases made through global shipping yet? I remember selling a couple cheap items and the buyer was being charged the global shipping rate for both items, there was no way to combine the shipments.
Donât think ebay would do that. Itâll just be extra work for them.
Warming up to fixed price only, arenât ya. ![]()
Oh, thatâs all I ever do, no best offer or anythingâŠ
Fixed price with the immediate payment setting always double checked. I donât even allow offers. I always check solds and at the time of my listing will undercut the lowest listing or last sold. If Iâm willing to see the item itâs because I paid cover, very little, or donât care anyway and want to move it.
I used to always do the free shipping/shipping thing but donât anymore. Shipping is simply too costly and I donât think the âfree shippingâ has the same positive impact it once did.
Any other format just leads to headaches these days (imo)
