eBay Headaches

Ask for a refund on the difference in shipping. Even if the seller refunds it, I’d still leave feedback stating that you paid for Priority and it was sent Media Mail.

I’ve seen that too before. Priority boxes of things shipped first class (really light stuff and the smaller boxes) and media mail. I’m like, if I did that, they’d return it and make me pay the difference. It’s just like seeing those people driving around without license plates or expired tags, if I did that, I’d get pulled over immediately and I did last year after buying my son his first car.

In order to get the new plates and registration, it must get a inspection. I asked, so, do I get a permit to drive it to get inspected since the registration on it is expired. They’re like… no, must have inspection and we don’t give out day passes. I was like okay, catch 22. They’re only response was, if you get a ticket, normally within 15 days you can get it waived if you get the registration done. I’m like, that sounds exhausting cause we all know how efficient the police citations work in most cities.

So the day I get it inspected, I’m driving directly to the place and back home only, shortest possible route to and from. I get car inspected, passes, driving home, you bet of course some state trooper pulls me over for having expired tag in window. So I explain the situation since I took like every piece of document I had so he did give me a warning but I was like… go figures, I’m on the road for 10 minutes total cause the place was only 5 miles from my house and I get pulled over but I joked with the trooper saying I knew this would happen. At least he was cool about it.

Oh, I recall the one time I got a priority mail flat rate box… I was actually from JTC himself. I paid for Priority Mail but they sent via Media Mail. I actually emailed them and they corrected it cause I was like, that’s not cool, I paid for Priority but you sent via Media Mail. Squeezing out a few bucks extra is about as shady as it gets. This was in the early early days when he was just getting started with direct orders. Haven’t ordered in a long time but always be on the lookout for sure for those that actually get away with this tactic. I’m sure most go unnoticed.

Some people seem to always be getting away with mini-scams or mischief. Then other folks do one wrong thing by accident and get caught. The world is a weird place.

Had this up for a few months with no offers (BIN $150.00 or BO). Today I received a couple of low ball offers so I revised the listing to “no offers” and lowered the ad rate % to 5.0 and had a sale for the full amount within the hour.

A seller to avoid? I’ll let you make that decision. eBay seller is saddadthecomicbookboy. Listing stated 3 business days for shipping and didn’t ship for over a week. I’m only counting business days so far longer than an actual week to ship.

I also paid $17 for Priority and it was shipped Ground Advantage. He’s earned himself some much needed negative feedback. I don’t play around. I can let the very late shipping slide but when you’re ripping me off in the shipping it’s a problem.

I would take that up with eBay too, get a refund on the shipping.

Has anyone had this issue before? I’m trying to figure out what happened. I was checking up on the status of some deliveries to check up on items that hasn’t been delivered in a while. This was my sale and I noticed that the item was out for delivery but got refused. I don’t think it was damaged because I bomb proof my package and customer hasn’t gotten back to me. I’m thinking the delivery was sent to a different household but got refused. But that’s odd too because I contacted the buyer and asked if there was an issue with the delivery and the buyer has ghosted me. Haven’t responded yet. All around weirdness.

The buyer doesnt want the item anymore. Hes going to ask for a refund…

Will be happy to offer the refund, I can sell it for more…

I assume you did not ship media mail…

I only ship media mail if the delivery is going to monopolyjackson :slightly_smiling_face:. Customer finally got back to me and said the driver never attempted to deliver the item to the house, they went straight to the post office.
This happens to me frequently when I get deliveries (except from Amazon). The mailman brings it straight to the post office and said they attempted, which is BS as I was home all day.

There are times that looking at mail tracking will send the sanest, most logical individual into a mental institution for major assistance.
It’s maddening at times to look at the trail and try to make sense of it

Update:

So tracking says item was refused by recipient and being returned back to sender. The customer says USPS never showed up. It’s a he said/she said

Screw it. Get the order back and cancel it. Resell the book for more.

An update on the seller that I paid for Priority shipping and shipped using Ground Advantage. It’s clearly against ebays rules to ship using a slower/cheaper service than what was paid for and the shipping service selected must be what was used for shipping.

I contacted eBay on the telephone and the agent opened an item not as described case to handle the shipping issue. I found that weird that they couldn’t just look at the facts and issue a refund. I’d already contacted the seller about the shipping discrepancy and was ghosted.

The seller was confused why it was opened and I explained eBay opened it in order to address the shipping issue. The seller was more than happy to accept a return and a second call to eBay confirmed that I should return the item for a full refund.

So, if you experience someone doing this and sellers do this all the time, you have no support from eBay although it’s clearly against the rules. Seller was trying to squeeze a few more dollars out of an auction that they had to of lost money on. Seller refused to even speak about why they didn’t ship Priority although it was mentioned in every message I sent.

So weird, they should have just refunded the difference on the shipping. eBay makes no sense at times.
