So the seller excepted a full return in lieu of just refunding a few dollars difference in shipping? For an item that arrived safely and as described other than shipping method?
I’m I reading this right?

I just know this buyer is going to be a problem. Bought a Garbage Pail Kid promo card off me. He bought it Saturday evening. Messages me later Sunday night Early Monday Morning, asking when I plan to ship it. He needs it for a birthday present. Wanting to fire off a smart ass comment but already feel this is going to be a problem buy. I did respond that when you purchase something on Saturday night, you have to wait for it to ship on Monday since there is no postal service between when you bought it and the next business day. Now mind you, I have sold about 7 of these promo cards all shipped by stamp and all positive feedback received. This SOB is going to say he did not receive it. Bet!
How much did it sell for? If $20 or under, you can use the eBay standard envelope option. May be about $0.20 more expensive to ship, but he can’t say he didn’t receive it.
Hmm haven’t heard of that. Need to look into it.
There are a few videos on YouTube on how easy it is. You basically use a regular envelope and just print out and adhere the label. I think it was developed to assist sportscard sellers dealing with the issue of buyers claiming an item wasn’t received. It also has $20 insurance built in.
Yeah. I need to find that in shipping options. I don’t sell many cards but have sold a few GPK promos lately that I have had laying around.
I’ve used more square envelopes that support the normal size label you print out with tracking number in the past without issues. I just sandwich the card in it’s holder with thin cardboard to prevent bending.
It used in the trading card category and its 69 cents with tracking and if it gets lost you can file for a refund. i have used it dozens of times without issue.
I have it set up that way apparently. But every time I have tried to print a label it charges $4
Nah…it’s just a dead beat das realizing he forgot his kids birthday…and is scrambling/desparate.
Help a brother out and get that thing down to the PO already! Customer is always right!!
You need to select the following postage service:
eBay Standard Envelope for eligible items up to $20 and the item has to be less than 3 ounces.
I have the weight set at 1 ounce and the eBay Standard Envelope checked. If someone else buys it I will take a screen show but it has been charging me for USPS Ground Advantage
the only thing i can think of is maybe the category is wrong. the following items are eligible for ebay envelope:
Trading cards
Coin & paper money
Postcards & stamps
I knew this son of a ■■■■■ was going to be a problem. As soon as people say it was purchased as a gift you know there will be an issue.
Needless to say I did take photos not that it will help but yeah as proof it was mailed.
Let me know if you need help with the standard envelope option on eBay. I’ve used it a few times recently with no issue.
You mentioned that it was forcing you to use Ground Advantage, which could be because of previously used “comic” dimensions and/or weight. Once you change those, it shouldn’t be an issue.
This is what it will provide you with in terms of tracking. It essentially scans and uploads the information every time it’s sorted.
That’s funny that buyers message sellers about what is going on with a package that has been mailed. Like we know any more than they do. My response is always the same. “I will look into it but would also suggest that you contact the post office on your end”
And after sending him the pictures with it in the mail box and the stamped envelope, he has gone radio silent. It won’t hold up to eBay but at least it chased away a potential problem.
I bet he expected you to just roll over and refund him. Once he saw any pushback he decided it wasn’t worth the effort of lying further, I bet.
You took pictures placing it in the mail box?
