When I drop books off I have them scan it in front of me.
That is the only way I can guarantee it will get scanned before it’s lost. Because that has happened when dropping off packages.

Well, according to my wife it’s not ok.
I like the little machine that scans stuff.
A seller to maybe avoid:
sxd2k32
Messaged me asking for a shipping discount if he bought 3 items. I agreed, but wasn’t home at the time and needed a few hours to get to it. He was irritated that it wasn’t immediate. When I got home, I made a new listing with the three books combined to make the whole transaction easier. Packed up the books (mistake).
Then he ghosted. I sent him 4-5 messages over the next week. Not even a “sorry, I’m not interested anymore.” Maybe a horrible life event happened, and he had to be offline. But, with no response, sorry. Banned.
Next time he can buy all the items and he can request an adjusted invoice. No need to create another listing. Also you can reimburse after the transaction which I generally do with offers.
Here’s one for ya.
I keep putting auctions on my watch list to snipe. But then forget about them or get distracted after the 15 minute warning.
I have a snipe software, but keep telling myself I’ll remember this time!!! Just to forget.
First world problems…
Anyone else notice when you change how your eBay searches are sorted the number of items in the search changes!? If you go from best match to lowest to highest price you get a lot less results.
Well, those lowest to highest just aren’t the best!
Pro tip: never use best match when searching for items on eBay both as a buyer or seller. Their algorithm is designed to give you results based on what they think will give the best chance of making a sale (aka more money for eBay). This means they will display results that may or may not have anything to do with your search parameters. You can disable best match results in your seller settings.
For example I’m looking for Transformers issue 15 and 19 from the marvel series. If I type in transformers 15 with best match, I will get anything transformers related including action figures, compendiums, IDW transformers books and CGC etc.
Try this instead:
“Transformers” +Marvel (15, 19) -CGC
The above tells me to search for transformers books with marvel in the title, only issues 15 and 19 and no CGC. If all the conditions are met it will only display those results. If you want to dive deeper into advance searches look for Boolean parameters.
@SpicyWasabi pulling out the Boolean operatives. I thought I was one of the few that still did that.
Ya but they took away the most powerful * some time ago…
I’ve been meaning to post these as well. I’m selling another action figure and my price is in the middle of most sale prices and the lower price I’ve seen of $90.
The snarky response alone is enough for me to block this fellow. Not a good sign of things to come.
Totally unnecessary.
That douche is the winner of a BLOCK !!!
I am usually very fair with my best offers…at least I think so. I don’t mind if they don’t get accepted because there is always something else. They only time I do mind a bit is if the best offer turns out to only be a dollar or so off the price (on books priced at roughly twenty or more) At that point it is just wasting peoples time.
Ebay is testing out this new feature where it will extend the time to bid by 2 mins once a bid is placed trying to curtail sniping and sniping software. I believe Heritage and other auction houses have this feature in place. It’s not live yet.
If Whatnot and storage unit sale websites can do it, eBay surely can.
No doubt. Not sure why they haven’t done it yet, other than a concern it will end up discouraging last second bids when a lot of people panic bid.
I also has this guy. He went silent after I asked for an offer. I haven’t seen the “it’s for my son” line since my sports card selling days. It could be an adult son, but usually this line is meant to evoke compassion for a little kid who wants a toy. I won’t be buying my son $100+ collectible action figures until he knows how to treat them.
I always ignored when people throw in comments to make it “personal”… It’s exactly what you said, true or not true, a tactic to try and get sympathy to lower the price so they get a better deal.
