eBay Headaches

2.4k sold here
1411 feedback, at 100% positive currently

I don’t always remember to but when I buy comics I like to leave feedback because I appreciate when people leave positive feedback for me.

I’m also 2.4K sold, 1558 positive feedback. Currently 100% positive. I had someone post negative one by accident once because they said good things but it was negative so I got it corrected.

Two pieces of thin cardboard…

Fragile. Do not bend. But it’s cool if you drag it behind your car for 184 miles.

I thought it said “Do Not Read”

How’d the book look?

I would be ashamed to send a comic to a buyer with packaging looking like that.

It’s that constant “magic” percentage of people that either don’t care or are too dumb to realize they are dumb.

Of course within a few hours of it being delivered I get this…

He didn’t say “positive” feedback…!

Haven’t opened the package yet. I’m not too worried about it as it is a mid-grade bronze book and it does appear it wasn’t bent. Interestingly enough he paid for the full 12oz when this probably weighs less than 8 oz…so there was room to add a few more pieces of reinforcement for sure…

I’ll reveal later. It’s a cool book. Not a huge key.

FYI, for you sellers in Texas…

How are they taxing a fee? A fee isn’t income. It’s an expense

Exactly, it’s just more BS…

Everything is bigger in Texas, including the fees!

So I guess by some twisting of some
Language, they’re arguing that the fee is not a fee, but a “service” that can be taxed under their code? Like eBay is the actual service provider (like your cell phone service). I don’t know. It’s absolutely ridiculous……

Last year, his office reclassified online marketplaces as “data processing services,” which are subject to sales tax of up to 8.25%. Texas law only taxes 80% of data processing charges, so sellers get a 20% exemption.

What?

A fee is actually income to eBay. It’s what they charge us to pay for their expenses…anything left over is profit/revenue.

I think being headquartered in San Jose they pay state income tax on revenue, but not to other states….except for goods and services.

Second time this month this has happened. Someone makes an offer and I accept. It’s a few dollars off. And ….::

Any time you get a message from someone that begins with “Hey friend” you just know it’s going to be d-bag city.

He followed it up with “any reason why this comic is so overpriced compared to the others?” Considering mine is the cheapest copy on eBay, I’m guessing he’s poorly asking why this particular issue is expensive. But, still. Blocked.

When you “smell” trouble; trust me … there will be trouble later.
Always pay attention to your senses and gut.

Guy I just had a case closed on messaged me originally when he purchased within a half hour of his BIN and asked when I’m shipping. I knew right from them I’m in trouble after he bought. Sure enough he opened a “I never received the item” when the tracking shows it was delivered. I knew I was winning the case, but I also knew early on that I was in for a ride. Blocked him now obviously

You could have had some fun and asked for comps. But
Make them prove it to you.
