I’m getting repeated messages now from multiple people on eBay telling me that he’s trashing me on multiple forums. He’s convinced them all that my books are overpriced and flawed. He’s made it his mission to hurt my sales. Neat guy.
I’ve stopped trying to figure out people in general but man are some of the peeps on eBay a special kind of a-hole. Thanks for dropping the name so I can block this douche lol
So, if I got a message from someone like that, I’d immediately think this person has something wrong with them…and block them.
I think the fact that others are reaching out to you says a lot about what they think of his character. Hopefully they are blocking him as well.
Anyone that’s going to that level when it’s funny books has a few screws loose.
Weird dude.
The problem is the people that are contacting me are clearly on his side.
I have a Geiger 80-page Giant Redcoat cover listed for $105 and a second one at $100. He said the book is not worth anywhere near that and I’m asking for more than what a graded 9.8 is worth.
The last 4 sold were for $85, $100, $100, $100. The other three listed are $96 (in Canada), $125, $125.
Also, who the hell messages someone on eBay just to tell them their book isn’t worth what they are asking? Who gives a damn? Move on with your life. There’s a CGC 9.8 listed at $500 right now. Is he also messaging this person to tell them how insane they are?
My single, and HUGE mistake, was engaging with him. I should have just blocked and moved on. I NEVER respond to these trolls, and this one time, I did. This really is my own fault, and trust me, the lesson is now learned.
But, going on multiple forums and facebook messages to smear my credibility? Man. This person is unwell.
I had a person with a similar situation the other day offer me $1 for an auction and told me thats all it was worth. I sent them back an offer for the full amount and blocked them. I would just block all the people contacting you and move on. The amount of people this person is getting too is probably just a very small fraction of people that buy on ebay, so if these people are on his side they would not be buying from you in the first place.
I listed an item today that instantly had a lot of interest. Multiple people sending offers and then asking why I did not accept. I just sold it for full asking price 10 hours later. That’s why. I think more and more people are getting hit with the stupid stick.
Someone trying the, “Negging,” strategy. Often used in the day by pick-up artists (remember when that was a thing?) it involved making the woman you were into feel bad about herself so she would have lower self-esteem or self-worth and therefore you would look more appealing/she wouldn’t feel like she was too good for you/out of your league. It’s a dumb idea, but you see it with stuff for sale, too. “That book sucks, it isn’t worth $100, it is barely worth $20. I feel bad for you so I’ll offer you $30 to take it off your hands!”
I appreciate the support on this one, fellas. To be honest, I’ve been kinda beating myself up today over this. Just so dumb to engage trolls. It never works. They always double down.
Anyway, CHU rocks.
I’d bet they’re his friends or maybe even his other accounts that he’s messaging you himself from. Just ignore and don’t let him get to you. We’ve all blocked him so he’s only hurt himself. Everyone knows CHU sellers are the best packers out there. His loss.
Sometimes you ever ponder about these types of people you come across in your lives? Like, what is going on in this persons life that makes them feel the need to just spend and exhaust so much of his/her life for something that really doesn’t effing matter in the end.
It’s these people, I’m starting to truly feel sorry for them as I get older. Once upon a time I wouldn’t give two shits but now, it’s like, this person must be truly miserable or something to make them act like what @Joe is experiencing from them.
He’s just butt hurt he didn’t get a copy to flip. I wouldn’t be surprised if the “other” people contacting you are his shill accounts. Seems like a dirty person. Projecting his terrible short sightedness onto you.
I can guarantee he got blocked by more people than you lost potential buyers.
Don’t. You had a human response to a clearly unstable person. His behavior is not your fault.
Book sold for full price last night.
Unblock and send him a copy of the sale…the. Re-block.

I tried, you know I am petty, he blocked me after I blocked him
That jerk!
Now you need to 1 up him and block him from CHU.
Turns out it was Poyo, he is now blocked.
(I am kidding of course)
I don’t have to buy from you… I get to fetch the comics and prepare them for thy packaging… and I still don’t seem to earn a new bucket for my troubles!
I started selling on eBay again and I’m just not gonna engage buyers when they start acting weird. Silence is golden… just block and move on if they’re annoying you I say. No words necessary if you don’t trust their intentions.
WISE move, Poyo.
Similar to Anthony, one of the books that people were messaging me about and saying was massively overpriced sold overnight. About 36 hours after listing it.
Speaking of which, this whole debacle does feel a bit orchestrated. 3 people messaged me to say I was being trashed, but in the end, they all said my books were way overpriced. Almost saying the exact same message.
And, another guy who started sending me messages about Geiger 80 Pager in the end said the book wasn’t worth nearly that and that many of my books were overpriced. I’ve never heard that message, then suddenly 5 people in all message me about the same book with the same talking points. And, oh yeah, that book sold for that price.
These are the 5 people. I’ve blocked them all, but you can do what you want with this information.

These may be real people who all just think my books are trash and overpriced. Or they are all in on the scam. Hell if I know. But, I don’t need their money. So, they are blocked.
I have 100% perfect feedback, and my feedback shows what real buyers think of my selling practices.
