eBay Headaches

I actually rather enjoy the trolling on eBay when it comes to offers, all my listings are Best Offer. I never, ever engage the trolls though, I let my counter-offers do the talking. I really, really wish eBay would allow you to counter-offer above your original list price, but they have no sense of humor

Yea that sounds like a real, not totally random made up, name…

I used to do the same thing. I would get a low-ball offer, I would counter with 20-25%off the asking price. They would go even lower, then I would lower it by a penny from original asking price lol. Good times.

I’m beginning to think this is a scammer trying to gaslight you into selling the book lower, because they missed out…

Probably doing the same thing to all the other sellers of the book with it similarly priced.

Which just begs you to question their mental stability…and makes for an easy block.

I’m not going to block the other names, but will monitor…I’d be curious if any approach me.

What I did do was check the copy I sold for well under (as it sold shortly after new hit) to see if it was this guy…because that would have been a sweet ā€œgotchaā€ moment if he was caught trying to by more copies after he already had one.

But alas, not that guy.

the thing I keep reminding myself of is comic book people are weird, come on… we have all seen some of these people at cons… one of us may be those weirdos ourselves. But when dealing with this type of person, we have to expect a bit of this.

I will say I think David Bitterbaum hit it on the head when he said its like the guy in a bar telling a girl she is ugly and fat, but he guesses he can throw her a bone and take her home for the night

YES! This is why I would love to be able to go over list price, don’t like 20% off? What about 5% over list price???

To be able to pull that pickup line off, you’d better have a lot of money and be showing it off….or at least pretend you have a lot of money….

Money makes anyone look more attractive…and people not hear what they’re saying…

Given the amount of people who buy off eBay, I would not get upset over this idiot. It would not surprise me if those other accounts were his, or at least his friends. They can trash you all they want, but your feedback is 100% and 99.9999% of all the people buying comics on eBay have no idea what this guy is saying or doing anywhere else on the internet.

Think about how much smaller his perspective seller bade has gotten. I bet far smaller than your perspective buyer base.

I’m sure most reasonable people can read such comments and know exactly what type of person this is… And I’d have to also guess that this person operates on multiple accounts to make it seem like it’s more, unless all their friends are as miserable as they are but my common sense says, this type doesn’t have a bunch of ā€œfriendsā€ā€¦

Can you imagine people you know coming up to you and asking you to help spam a seller on eBay because they were selling collectible’s in a condition you didn’t agree with?

Think about it…I don’t know if that’s more pathetic than creating multiple shill accounts to do it all by your lonesome.

I guess the first one is pathetic….the second one is just sad…

Question. If you block someone, and then send an offer, I’m guessing that the blocked person won’t get that offer. Right?

I blocked someone many months back, and I went to send an offer to watchers, and it threw an error message. ā€œCouldn’t deliverā€ or something like that, and I KNEW it was trying to go to that user.

Anyway, I always send offers out to people when they are eligible. I have a TON piled up right now, but I’ve been afraid to send any because I don’t want them going to the asshats that were trolling me this week.

We should experiment…one of us temporarily block the other and try a few things…

You’d think if you blocked someone it would remove the. From watching your item…but maybe eBay is not that smart…

I mean, even if they did get an offer, it wouldn’t be transactable, as they can’t engage with my account. And, you can’t transfer that to another account. So, asshat 1 couldn’t send that offer to his other fake account. So, it’s probably safe?

I mentioned previously and not too long ago what is allowed and not allowed when you block a user.

They can practically do everything until it comes to actually buying your item, then they are blocked. It doesn’t block messages, them from viewing, etc.

I can confirm that if you’ve messaged with someone before and then block them they will still message you. Usually to complain about how they’re blocked.

You can block someone and they can still message you, even if you’ve never messaged prior.
