eBay Headaches

Anyone else have issues with saved searches on the eBay app for iPhone? I can’t access them and get an error message. I can access through the website though.

What is the harm in trying it out? Somebody block me!!

No, but what I find really annoying about searches is how even if you have lowest cost item filtered it still puts higher “priority” items like promoted items first…even if they are 10x the lowest price or 100 items are cheaper.

Git that she-it out of here!

Didn’t say otherwise, just saying I think you’re just wasting your time on info that’s already available.

Blocking a buyer | eBay states:

eBay sellers have control over who can bid on and buy their items. You can block individual buyers or set buyer requirements based on specific criteria.

If you’ve had an issue with a buyer and don’t want them to purchase or bid on your items, you can add them to your Blocked buyers list. They’ll be unable to place bids or buy from you until you remove them from the list.

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/What-does-a-blocked-buyer-see/td-p/27786082#:~:text=They%20are%20able%20to%20see,not%20accepting%20bids%20from%20you.

They are able to see your listings; unless they hit the back button, when they see your id.

They won’t know they are blocked, unless you have told them, until they go to bid or buy. Then they receive a message that states, This seller is not accepting bids from you.

Feedback like this makes me sigh, I mean the guy didn’t even make an offer on the book, he bought it full price:

This “Very expensive” is like unbelievable. I mean truly unbelievable.
Unless there was someone twisting his arm and forcing the purchase, this is the silliest, most nonsensical feedback I’ve ever seen.

At least it’s positive! I get the weirdest feedback but if it has a plus it’s all good.

That is so laughable….

Very expensive = not cover price.

I listed two more Absolute Batman Annual #1’s tonight the Johnson Covers. Guy hits me up for better pictures. I go back and forth with him sending him pictures of different angles and all. He thanks me and raved about the condition. Then shoots me an offer for 25% off.

i would send him another pic of my junk

Are your comics “very expensive?” Because that might explain it.

No, I only sell my shitty condition comics at 9.8 graded prices, not 9.9 and 10.0 graded prices

This is the new trend I have noticed. Anyone recently asking for more photos, or better photos, responds back with the fact this book is not Mint and you need to reduce your price (typically 25%). Must work on others since they are trying.

He asked about any damage, I said would you like more pictures. He said yes please. I sent more photos. He said the book was perfect. He then thanked me and apologized for being so pushy. I said no worries, always ask for more pictures. He then sends me an offer on the Absolute Batman Annual 1 I have listed for $20 with an offer of $15. I decline and say I just listed them an hour ago and not taking offers at this time. I said give it a few days and if it is still here I will consider. Before I could turn offers off he sends me one at $16. I shoot back I am not looking to take 20% off a book I just listed. I send the response, go to turn off offers, he shoots back a $17 offer. I declined it in one window and turned off offers in another. I then went on to block him.

My opinion is someone like this is a very high risk for a return. You’ll do all this work to get their business, only to have them find the slightest little defect (one that would not keep a book from a 9.8 to begin with) and then either ask for a partial refund or force a return.

I can pretty much guarantee that even if this person paid full price, they will not stop trying to get money back from you once the book arrives.

Every bit of that exchange is a red flag. For a $20 book, not worth the hassle. Not for that hot book, for sure.

I agree. Red flag machine right there.

Both copies sold over night to two different buyers at full price.

That is the best part. People try to get a deal even when the item is priced well and might not last. If you have best offer up it does not mean “low ball me”. There seems to be three different groups of people with best offer. The first are the people that pay full price and don’t even bother offering, the second are the people that offer a few dollars or percentage off the item, and the last are the low ballers who also tend to be problematic.

I have a book up right now that has sold for over $250 a few times, months ago.
I have mine up for $200.
Granted $200 might be too much given it’s been up for a couple months now.

But I literally got an offer last night for $5.
Yes, $5.
Is it even worth effort clicking on best offer and typing $5 and sending it?
