eBay Headaches

Usually 24 to 48 hours. The graded comics might be delayed because of the shipping delays if they were mailed out in November or early December.

LOL. The package that I sent that spent a full month somewhere between Cincinnati and Northern KY was finally delivered today. Theyā€™re just going to refuse it and send it back to me, but that was a wild ride. Previous scan on tracking was 12/24 before being delivered on 1/20.

Thatā€™s ok if the grading is delayed - not a big deal at all.

What Iā€™m looking for is some courtesy and decency - in the form of a response to my message.

This guy had no problem responding to questions about potential purchases - getā€™s back to me within minutes, but I have yet to ever receive a response about an order after giving him my money.

The previous inquiry was a request to adjust the order - ultimately, he fulfilled the request, but never responded to the message that I sent asking for the adjustment.

Is it that much to ask for the seller to have the courtesy to respond to a customer that paid him almost 4 months ago? Itā€™s been 48 hrs now. Iā€™ll wait till Friday before making my next move.

Man I need to chillā€¦ getting fired up over here.

I pre-ordered 8 comics last month. I just got refunded most of my money without a message. After two days I sent a message to find out what had happened. The guy apologized and said something about most of the comics getting damaged. I an waiting to see what arrives now. He said he thinks he sent 3 comics. If he sent 3 comics then it is not too bad. I would have liked to have him send me a message.

I have the same issue with what I believe is the same seller. I pre-ordered several CGC 9.8 comics last June, including a Thor 5. Several months go by with nothing. I sent several emails and was told books would be back from CGC soon. When I did finally receive my order, no Thor 5. Since then I have sent numerous emails without a single response. And eBay does nothing since the order is so old.

Which is why I donā€™t order anything further out than 30 days. Unless Iā€™ve ordered from them a few times. PayPal if you used it gives you I wanna say 6 months which youā€™d be beyond it or possibly dispute it with your card company. I hate those that provide excellent service before the sale and none afterwards.

Yeah, itā€™s just classless. Iā€™m giving him a chanceā€¦ he has until late afternoon tomorrow or sometime Friday at the latest, and then Iā€™m going to go the extra mile to expose him/the company.

Two of my orders are already past the Ebay money back guarantee window - earliest one was placed almost 4 months ago - I donā€™t see the option to dispute on Paypal at this time. I do however, see the option to dispute via my credit card company.

If you have no problem taking peoples money for pre orders that donā€™t deliver for 2-4 months after the purchase date, then you damn well better have the courtesy to respond to customer messages. Itā€™s not too much to ask. I am more bothered by the fact that this guy has not responded to my messages than the fact that Iā€™ve yet to receive what I paid for.

And @JAndreu has confirmed via DM that we are both talking about the same seller.

Also - kind of suspect that this guy has positive reviews for CGC pre orders when the ability to leave feedback expires well before any CGC pre-orders would ever end up in the customers hand.

Ok so I ran out of patience - I called out the store on twitter by responding to a discussion between their twitter account and Boom comics, and I also left negative feedback on a more recent open order that I have with the seller.

And guess what happened? I got a response to my original message within 30 minutes. I hate having to do sh!t like this. I gave them ample time to provide adequate customer service and respond to my inquiries - multiple days - and got nothing. It took me having to be petty in order to get their attention within a matter of minutes.

Iā€™m talking about Hotshot Comics here for any potential buyers out there. Also known as Asheville Comics in North Carolina - fully deserve to be put on blast. I really donā€™t care anymore.

To be fair, I know @Joe has received orders from them in the past w/o any problems so itā€™s not all bad. I donā€™t care about delays - I care about being respected as a customer and having my messages responded to without me having to resort to pettiness.

I will happily rescind my negative feedback on eBay once I receive my first order from them. The problem with these pre orders is that your ability to leave feedback on a purchase expires prior to receiving (or not receiving) what you paid for, so I left the negative feedback on an unrelated order from the same seller.

What was their response when they finally replied?

I ordered from them once, and it went as expected. No real issues. I did buy directly from their website, though. Not via eBay.

ā€œCGC does not provide updates or ETAā€™s, we ship as they arrive. You will be notified via email when the items return from grading.ā€

Thatā€™s it.

I assumed it would take about 8-10 weeks from when the issues were released, and thatā€™s about when I got them. So, when pre-ordering issues not yet released, thereā€™s going to be a wait.

Was your order outside of that 8-10 weeks after the books were originally released? I think they give the ballpark of 7-8 weeks, but I assumed that is optimistic. CGC is slow.

If I donā€™t count the weeks of thanksgiving, christmas, and new years, then weā€™re talking over 9 weeks. 12 weeks otherwise.

Again, this isnā€™t about the delay in receiving the slabs. Itā€™s more about the lack of customer service. I wasnā€™t asking for much when I requested a status update on my order.

Yup and looking at their update, it took them all but maybe 15 seconds to reply with that very generic response that would have likely avoided being called out on twitter and publiclyā€¦

With that business model, my guess is they get bombarded with ā€œwhere is my slab?ā€ emails.

Feels like something they should get in front of. Maybe an automated pro-active email every two weeks stating, ā€œThanks for shopping with us. Your comics are still with CGC and will be shipped to you within 2-3 days of arrival at our facility.ā€

Any time you go months without communication, even if you knew that going into the purchase, people will still get anxious.

I get it man - but I gave them ample time. Over two days. And now I got the following response:

ā€œWe now see that youā€™ve decided to leave negative feedback for an item you just ordered recently. There was absolutely no need for that and we ask respectfully that you remove it. That seems like quite a rash decision that you made without simply waiting for an answer to your inquiry.ā€

Perhaps they should only list them when theyā€™re available. If they read the eBay rules, theyā€™re not even suppose to pre-sell items they canā€™t ship within 30 days.

Iā€™d say, Iā€™ll rescind once the item arrives. Next time perhaps you should respond to customer service inquiries in a more timely manner.

I have some 9.8 copies of High Republic #1 on order from them. I was hoping that was not who you were talking about. What book are you waiting on?

Oh I have a bunch on order man, including first prints of ASM 55.

The order in question however, shouldnā€™t be too big of a deal (donā€™t laugh) - Spawn 311 black panther variant and a latter printing of Strange Academy #1 - multiple copies.

If youā€™re worried about not receiving a book that heats up after you order it, then I think itā€™s best to refer you to @JAndreu - his experience with Hotshot Comics is much worse than mine.
