eBay Headaches

No no, you people stay on eBay… all these hot books are selling as fast as I list them… since Mercari isn’t swamped like eBay…

The 40 character limit in titles is a pain, one major downside to Mercari. I use both it and eBay for different things. eBay is getting on my last nerve, however.

this would be me

I’m having to go through and edit every one of my listings into the new format. Tried to check a few to see where I was price-wise compared to other listings and couldn’t find half of my listings in the search.

This is going to be a nightmare to change all my listings or they aren’t going to get any views.

I just sold a Spider-Man Unlimited #1. Listed for $32, in middle of the night someone offers $28 and then like 30 minutes later it sold for $32.

Had it happen yesterday too. Listed 1 for $26, someone messaged me asking if I’d take $20, not 5 minutes later someone bought for $26.

You snooze, you lose… just buy the damn thing at pricing instead of being that cheap price haggler I say…

We should just rename this from 'eBay Headaches" to “eBay Sucks!”

Yes please.

I wonder if the change is why I haven’t sold much in the last 24 hours…usually I have quite a few sales by now…

I have been making more money and getting more views on Mercari. Its funny because people have wanted an alternative to ebay for years, now there is a perfectly viable one and I have been reaping the rewards, higher sales prices, less cut throat undercutters, than on eBay.

A customer is trying to return an Eternals #1 1:50 Bosslogic Variant Cover on the basis of it not being a first printing (citing the barcode numbering, which ends in a 6). I’ve tried to explain that there was only ever one printing of the cover, and that there have been no later printings of any of the current Eternals run, but they’re adamant it was false advertising and are threatening to escalate the case with eBay.

Could eat the fees and return postage, but as they’re being particularly demanding and unpleasant, I’m not inclined to buckle.

What do you reckon the odds are eBay sides with me? Should I just accept defeat and take the return?

Well you could point the buyer to this CBR article where they explain how the last digit of a UPC code that is normally used for printing is taken over for cover number for issues with more than ten covers and hope that they can understand.

Otherwise, yeah, just accept defeat and take the return. The buyer can simply file a SNAD claim and force you to take it back. eBay won’t care to know enough about comic book variant covers to know the buyer is incorrect.

Mailed a comic to an ebay buyer on the 5th, it was showing no more info after the 6th via ebay and USPS website. Started to get worried so typed tracking info into google and this came up.
Comic is going to California…it’s currently in NY. Strange, I sell a lot to people in California and have never had anything go through Queens to get there.

Thank you! I’ll cite this in a final attempt to explain, before inevitably suffering the return process regardless.

Really appreciate the help, and time taken sourcing and sharing the link!

I may have to give this Mercari a try. Right now, I have a good bit posted on Offer Up but I’m not having much luck :frowning:

So a buddy of mine was telling me he can’t see some of my listings on ebay. I’ve been searching for the reason and I find this in the shopify listing. Can you imagine being mycomicshop, who has over 400k listings, having to go and redo all the categories? I’m not gonna complain anymore lol.

What eBay should have done was any of the categories they basically removed and or deleted would default to the generic root category. So in this case, if someone searches for an item in the category of 17076, that translates to ID 63 or whatever it is for Comics.

Yeah…but instead they screwed my listings to hell! Either way they don’t care!

Yup, incompetence at it’s finest over there at eBay. Normal companies would also send out notices to warn users as well… I saw nothing of the sort.

Not being able to see the listings due to category is possibly why my listings are not getting any views. Gonna have to pull everything down and relist

When the Eternals movie is close to being released you will be able to sell it for more.
