eBay Headaches

Their whole system is a joke. The alien variant is still not marked as shipped on eBay. Spiderman was marked as shipped a few months ago.

I wonder if eBay issued the refund themselves. Reaching out to them now.

Out of hundreds of Marvel comics I have had exactly one that didnā€™t have a code in it. It was just a blank white sticker under the sticker you peel off. It is possible but I would require some kind of proof

Refund was issued on May 18th. Shipping label was created on May 18th and package was handed over to USPS on the 19th.

I see what happened now. Ebay refunded me for the entire order placed in November because it violated their presale policy, even though half of that order was fulfilled prior to the case being opened.

That presale rule violation means I was still eligible for the money back guarantee, regardless of whether the order was partially fulfilled - ebay refunded the whole amount back to me.

You are an honest person, what seller was this from?

Same one as all my eBay headaches. Hotshotcomics.

Oh Ok, I have ordered from them before

Which means Hotshotcomics didnā€™t do the right thing and refund you after 6 months so they are still sh*t and still donā€™t know/understand what happened.

Myself, being the d*ckhead that I am, Iā€™d wait for Hotshotcomics to come begging to you for the money if they ever figure it outā€¦ :upside_down_face:

Now that I think of it, I too have had one marvel comic that just didnā€™t have any sticker or code sticky on the code page. Soā€¦ it does happen.

Iā€™m kind of torn. Just got done with eBay support - they confirmed that my understanding is correct. The entire order was refunded even though it was partially fulfilled, simply because it violated their presale policy/terms and so the buyer protection/money back guarantee was applied.

The support rep says I can keep the refund and the items, and that I need not do anything more from here.

Again, all I was ever asking for was some responses to my requests for order updates. The seller refused to afford me this courtesy. Instead, they chose to be rude and also thought that blocking a customer was an appropriate course of action.

Someone should have told the seller that such actions have consequences.

At this point, if the seller comes forward and shows some humility, Iā€™ll consider giving them the refunded amount back via Paypal.

Ballā€™s in their court.

Maybe this is the karma shove they need to start treating customers better.

I just had a buyer claim he gave the kid the comic book for his birthday, and the code was already used. What did you guys tell the buyer? Its not someone who is going to be a repeat customer, but I also donā€™t want to piss someone off over $3.00 (my cost).

I would just cut your losses. Itā€™s a he said she said and eBay will side with him. Have him put in a return request through eBay (so you can get your eBay fees refunded) and give him a refund. Otherwise he can just put in a SNAD claim. Maybe block him afterwards.

I would tell him he needs to contact DC/Fortnite to claim the code was already used to get a new one (It happens or the code doesnā€™t work for some reason, itā€™s happened to me with Marvel and yes, they were peeled off by me). You sold him a sealed pack, how can you control the codes within? I would tell them, thatā€™s first option is to contact DC/Fortnite, if they donā€™t help him, then come back and you can see what you can do to help. If heā€™s not lying, that seems like a reasonable request. If he gets pushy, denies to contact them, that tells a different story and theyā€™re likely lying.

I know you all are perfect so this never happens to youā€¦but man it feels good to find a comic that you thought you lostā€¦or you have an extra of one when your inventory messes up! Phew! Especially on those big sales!

So, I found the link to the support site, and sent that to the buyer. I think he just thought I would refund him for no reason. Lets see what happensā€¦ havenā€™t heard back from them.

Does anyone know the settings to putting so customers can add items to the cart and then be able to request a total for combined shipping? I thought I had it that way years ago but now it seems to not work anymore for me.

There are actually two spots you have to enable this, and be careful because you can mess up. The first spot is your business policies, and you set the shipping setting there, and can add an amount to be added if they buy more than one.

The second setting is in your seller account. This effects all your listings if they combine items. You can select a calculated and a flat rate policy, and it will affect your corresponding business policy.

This enables you to set maybe $5.95 shipping first class for one item, and then perhaps .25 more per item within the same listing. Then if you have your flat rate shipping set up in the seller shipment settings, you can add the same .25 cents per additional item. That way a buyer doesnā€™t always have to request an invoice.

I canā€™t believe itā€™s been 20+ years of eBay and we still canā€™t have automatically combined shipping. What other shopping site do you have to email cs and ask ā€œhey, do yā€™all combine shipping?ā€

Imagine having twenty comics in your cart on TFAW and sending cs a chat message ā€œhey, you guys combine shipping?ā€

ā€œYeah, just request an invoice in the cart.ā€

How ridiculous would that be? Why is this even a setting that needs to be turned on with eBay? What did any of us do in a past life to deserve the endless box checking and drop-down menu selecting purgatory?
