I give refunds and message the buyer I have done it.
I’m the same, I’ll just refund shipping costs even when the buyer doesn’t even bother to ask or initiate.
Same here. I refund them whether they request it or not just to be on the up and up.
I do free shipping. I just sometimes will add a little extra to my selling price if I feel like it’s gonna cost more to ship because I’m gonna need to insure it extra or something. Hilariously enough I will sometimes get people asking about combined shipping and I’ll point out it’s free shipping then they say thanks and buy a number of items lol.
Do yourself a favor and block this guy. Made several offers until he hit my minimum offer amount. I didn’t accept until about 24 hours later. After accepting, he cancels the order within the hour. wybun28
It’s been settled. I think the guy just wasn’t checking his email or messages…likely just went to eBay and saw I hadn’t paid yet.
I’m no longer surprised at how little effort or research people put into an issue before firing out an email or response…
Either way, I’m paying $15 to ship probably 3 oz of cards…we’ll see what goes into $15. Better be @agentpoyo bomb proof packaging…
I just refund them shipping costs for each additional item. Even if it amounts to higher shipping coats. I just consider it a discount.
Most of the time they don’t even ask for it…but I send them a refund anyway and thank them.
Ironically I prefer this, as I instantly get paid. Half the time I get a combined shipping request the buyer never pairs the invoice.
And if the postage is on the package, hit them on eBay for a refund or not as described.
It’s doubtful eBay will do anything about the combined shipping. Hell they won’t do anything when you pay for Priority and it’s shipped Media. I’ve had several of these and eBay refused to do anything about it.
Yeah…at that point all you can do is give them feedback and refuse to buy again…or return the item for spite….
This is what $15 shipping gets you.
4.0 oz. A re-used bubble mailer…didn’t even bother removing the old labels…and did a poor job covering them up with the new ones.
Single piece of packing tape, which didn’t even cover the entire length of the opening, and was nearly completely compromised by the time it arrived.
They were protected by this strange square plastic window container…which I’m sure was also reused from something else.
Cards arrived fine…how they didn’t fall out of the bubble mailer is a wonder…
Terrible and I’d strongly consider leaving negative feedback.
I don’t mind recycling materials…I’m all for it if they can still serve their purpose…I take full advantage of it myself…but I but I pass along those “savings” in my shipping costs.
But I remove or completely cover any pre-existing labels, and I tend to over tape to make sure any weakness reuse make cause is properly reinforced to be better than the original.
This was just laziness and price gouging.
Agreed, I’ve recycled shipping materials dozens of times, but I always make sure it’s free of any prior labels and presents well. The single piece of tape that didn’t even cover the opening – yeah, it’s laziness and/or a half-hearted FU of a shipping job.
I want to charge exact cost to buyers myself. I don’t want to profit over shipping, if I start depending on that, that’s bad for business because doing business online where it requires packing and shipping is part of the service if you ask me.
The only time I’d say it makes sense to charge for “handling” and “packing materials” is when the item actually requires more than just the few minutes of packing. Like, I’ve packed up server racks before to ship, that takes time and costs a lot more than free supplies you can mostly get from USPS offices to use.
Hit for a refund. 4 ounces ground advantage is super cheap and probably under $4. He price gouged you. I would hit for a refund and leave negative feedback. I reuse Gemini mailers all the time. Cuts down on waste. But that is pathetic.
They’ll probably get it reversed since D-Rog agree to the $15… so he’s just wasting this time.
I know eBay “quotes” higher prices than what the seller ends up paying…which I think they do because they don’t k ie if you’ll use eBay shipping or pay for it at the usps…?
Buy pirate ship is a good way to see what likely eBay would quote vs what the seller actually pays. And yes this wound have cost under $6 to shop.
Click-n-ship is another means to get a quote on discounted shipping through the usps website. Similar result.
Yeah. Best I can do is tell him I don’t appreciate the fact that I was price gouged, which I clearly was given what materials were used vs what I was charged. Call him out. Sellers xant can’t give negative feedback!
I’m telling you if eBay allows sellers to ship media when you’ve paid for priority they’re not going to do a thing about someone overcharging on shipping.
