And then request cancellation

I thought buyers could no longer request cancellations.
Remember that great change eBay made that “forces” the seller to cancel a sale, or forces shipping an unwanted sale to a buyer, even if the buyer says they’ll just return it?

I don’t know that has gone into effect because clearly this idiot bought from me and asked to cancel. I am really confused as to what the ■■■■ is going on. Feel like I am being trolled.
I’ve had hardly any sales so thankfully no buyer issues this month but if I do they always seem to come one right after the other. Sorry you got all the crazies this time around!
My only issues are people not shipping my purchases.
One I bought a week ago. The other 5 days ago. Have not even created a label.
For the longest time most of my auction wins were automatically charged as soon as the auction ended. You’d actually get a screen confirming this showing you what card it’d be charged to when placing a bid.
I wanted to put some books up for auction but I don’t see an option and it defaults to a week after auction ends for payment to be made. I don’t want buyers to have up to a week before they’re forced to pay. eBay needs to get their shit straight.
I haven’t had this issue on Ebay, but Mercari, damn they are slow shippers over there. One person it was over a week and they never added tracking. When I reached out they said oh I can’t find the item you bought you’ll need to cancel the order.
They give me an hour to decide who to pay, otherwise they charge my balance and default to credit card when that’s depleted.
