eBay Seller/Buyer Avoid List

This one could double under the EBay Headaches thread…

My first non paying buyer. Buyer made an offer for my Monsters 1, I accepted the offer and did not pay in 5 days. Blocked

Added to my list. Thanks!

Get this, I just saw something weird. So I had Monsters 1 as a buy it now with best offer. He made an offer and didn’t pay so I blocked him. As this was going on I had another Monsters 1 as an auction with a day to go. I looked at the auction bids and what do you know he was the high bidder on this as well until about an hour ago. What is this creep doing? Is he trying to tie up the market to stop copies from selling?

Could be trying to make it look like more copies are selling or trying to drive the prices up. Also could be trying to take copies off the market for a couple of days so maybe his copies will sell

What happens when you block someone who’s a high bid on an auction?

Inquiring minds want to know…

Not eBay but Mercari. Mind you this is on Absolute Batman #1

You’d think someone with “Comic” as part of their user name would understand that comics don’t always stay cover price. Then again, he has time to waste on asinine comments, so he’s obviously super cool.

I reported the comments. Guy is an ass.

It’s what we refer to as a “troll”… he’s just trolling you! I don’t even waste my own time in responding to people like this, block/ignore, move on.

It sure sounds like it…I like your last response though.

Trolls to me aren’t serious. They just poke and prod but don’t have sincere intention behind the words/actions. I honestly think that guy is angry a book doesn’t stay at cover price. He wants Congress to step in and create a federal law lol.

But he’s taking the time to comment on a product he claims he can get at cover price at his local shop only to tell the seller this bit of info. That’s just trolling IMHO… :person_shrugging:

I have Best Offer on. Buyer sent offer and I accepted. 4 days later still unpaid. I canceled order and blocked buyer. Avoid.

Question. If you sent a counter offer and they accepted, does it automatically pay for it? Like a buy it now?

Wondering, because a strategy could be to counter one penny higher and make them accept. Thats seems like a DM, but could explain in the counter that you agree to the price, but they need to provide instant payment.

If that’s not the way it works then never mind.

I’m not sure if this is the same for everyone. I have BO turned on, I have 2 eBay accounts (US and CAD). When someone sends me an offer on the .com site and I accept, the buyer is automatically charged. When I accept an offer on the .ca site, the buyer has a few days to make payment.

I have not changed any settings and I know that buyers getting instantly charged is something new for me. In the past everyone always have a few days to pay.

Looking back at this thread. I hope this one worked out in your favor for the Monsters #1!

Well kinda. I had 6 copies of Monsters 1 cover A. At the time it was lingering at $25 in the aftermarket and hasn’t really taken off yet. The normies were still sleeping. I had it for $25 with best offer. Got an offer for $19, so I just accepted it. It wasn’t flying off the shelves for me at that time.

Buyer didn’t pay lol and I relisted it. After 5 days had passed it started to pick up steam as copies were drying up on ebay and the print run was so small. I relisted at $40 and it sold pretty much instantly.

I had no idea that it would hit the stratosphere. :sob:

As long as you made money, don’t look back! @agentpoyo told me that when I’ve discussed comics I sold too soon or such. There are plenty I sold just in time before they cratered too!
