Well, I doubt the system even allows you to buy from yourself so it’s just null at that point if it even lets you.
I see my listings when I search.
I think the question was “what can you see?” if blocked. Would you be blocked from seeing your own auctions?
dare I try blocking myself to see what happens? What will people give me to do it? This can be the latest social media dare…
Sure, it’s less weird than just yelling the numbers six and seven for no reason!
In the past, I had a blocked buyer ask why they can’t pay for an item that was BIN. And I had an auction where a blocked buyer contacted me saying they couldn’t bid. So unless they’ve changed things, blocking buyers only blocks them from actually buying or bidding on items, they can see and browse any and everything without issues.
There is an option to not allow blocked user to contact you, but you have to check it off.
This is exactly the way I want it to work. Yes you can see but you cannot touch, karma!
Yeah, but they can still browse your listings.
And order from a second unblocked account.
Buyer made offer and it was accepted he then requests cancelation this morning. Two hours after he put the offer in.
I often wonder what could possibly be the reasoning behind these types of situations.
It’s like they do these things to us just for punking us / Candid Camera skit.
So damn frustrating (unless it was for Candid Camera in which case I’d laugh - I guess)
I imagine they found it for a better price shortly after buying, or suddenly get buyer’s remorse when they remember a bill that’s due or such. That, or a spouse/parent yells at them about purchasing more comics and they suddenly cancel.
Don’t buy shit you don’t plan to pay for or have the money for. It’s pretty easy.
I’ve also been getting the “ebay cannot process the payment from buyer” message quite often lately after a buyer makes an offer. Usually it works out and the buyer eventually pays when they get it sorted out.
This latest incident the buyer sends me an offer for $10 on a random book that I accepted. It’s odd that they can’t process a $10 sale.

New account, non paying buyer. Blocked
Here is one to add to the block list. Ordered two books. I sent combined invoice. Has canceled one and hasn’t paid for the other.
I was going back and forth about disabling requiring immediate payment and allowing buyers to request totals. Ultimately I decided that I’d leave the setting on to require immediate payments and instead refund shipping costs after the buyer checks out. This way buyers can still get the combined shipping discount while minimizing non-payment scenarios.
Btw nice to see Mr. & Mrs. X #3 at $20!!
I require immediate payments and have a combined shipping rule that applies to comics. As long as they add comics to their cart before purchasing Ebay handles the shipping for me. It’s worked out well.
So initially I couldn’t get this to work but your post got me looking into it again and yes, I was able to get it working while keeping the immediate payment requrement on. Thanks ![]()
For those who are interested:
(You could probably skip step 1 if you’re happy with your current shipping policy that your listings are under)
Step 1: account → business policies → create policy
Create new shipping policy
Example:
Flat rate, $5, ground advantage.
Enter policy name
Save
Step 2: account → shipping preferences → combined shipping → combined shipping rules (edit)
Flat Shipping Rules (edit)
Add profile
Add an amount for each item
+$1 and name the profile
Save
Step 3: account → business policies → shipping
Select your desired shipping policy
Scroll down to combined shipping rule
Select shipping rule created in step 2
Save
This example would charge buyers an initial $5 for first item and an additional $1 for each additional item.
Already have that guy on my block list. Superchelps
