I have a guy I was negotiating with. I sent out an offer, he countered. I sent out a revised offer. He countered, I accepted the offer. He has yet to pay. It’s been 9 days.
Feel free to block this guy as well.

Ironically it sold an hour later for full price to someone else.
Maybe it’s doing the automatic payment after 10 days or something like that? I saw that was some type of option after I took an offer from a buyer. Said it will auto pay after 10 days unless they proceed to pay if they’re “done shopping”… Must be relatively new option for buying? I never recalled this prior since this past few months is first time I’ve sold things on eBay in a couple of years.
Doesn’t matter. It sold to someone else after he bought it and failed to pay. eBay leaves it online and love so someone else got it. F that guy. I am not doing layaway for people.
Ahhh…
That’s what she said.
Is that a new thing?
I don’t know. When I accepted the offer he should have had to pay. eBay kept the listing live and he didn’t pay for 9 days. It didn’t give me a chance to cancel the offer or anything.
When I accept a best offer, it keeps the listing up until they pay. I’ve accepted an offer only to have someone swoop in and buy it right away at full price.
I recall that on one of mine as well. Someone made offer, I accepted, it kept it live and someone else came in and bought at my asking price.
Maybe it’s always been that way…I’ve never checked to see if it was still listed…I just assumed once agreed to by both parties it’s a contract.
I found that that when they take your offer that you send them they have to pay immediately if you have that check off in your listing, but if they come back to you with an offer after you first offer it does not always charge them.
I believe eBay now gives you ten days to pay when it’s through an offer so you can have time to continue shopping with that seller and combine purchases etc. They don’t take the listing down until it’s paid for tho so another buyer can scoop it up. 10 days is also ridiculous when it used to be 5 days and the sale would just be cancelled for non-payment.
Yeah, I think 10 days is a bit excessive as well. People have the attention spans of goldfish nowadays. Great it will auto pay on their behalf but do people really take 10 days to buy all the things they want from a single seller? My hunch says… no, not at all as it shouldn’t apply to all things and buyers they’re buying from.
But it does work to your advantage though as a seller. Just like I said previously, I accepted an offer and it went into the, 10 day auto pay and then someone else came in the next day and bought at my asking price, so that person who got $20 off missed out cause they couldn’t pay right away.
I am wondering if people get notification that someone else is trying to purchase something they are watching.
@D-Rog is all about testing out eBay stuff… let’s get him to do it! Make him make offers on our stuff and then hold him accountable when he don’t pay! ![]()
Yes, just like that that’s good to know. Also, I’m gonna go throw an offer on those gold key battle of the planet books.
