What’s the meme for when the only appearance is on the cover and then a later issue has the first app, but no cover appearance. Example: Plague Spawn on cover of #313, but not inside the comic. Plague Spawn first app in #315, but not on cover?

There is 160 copies in a sealed case. Apparently only 26 cases were printed. 26 times 160 is 4,160 copies. That is a low print run.
You cant go by case numbers for a print run…
You’re assuming alot without more info.

Ya id be shocked if the print run was that small considering the heat that was on the 1st printing.
Multiple printers, multiple distribution channels… yes, it’s just a label on a box. Without all the information provided from printer to distributor to retailer to consumer… it’s all just ‘hearsay’ on print run. We’ll never know the true print run unless the publisher announces it from what they ordered from the printers to be printed.

Also to note on top of that, my father was a Master Printsman for over 30+ years for his career. Printed a lot of things in his life on huge print presses, whatever was ordered, etc. They always printed X amounts of extras as well, most would be destroyed but sometimes you know, employees took their copy… I’m not saying it happens for comics but I wouldn’t doubt if it does. Normally the first ones out aren’t so great, they do quality control and checks… so yes, when a company likely orders X amount of copies, the printers might print Y amount for many reasons to make sure the customer is getting exactly what they want.
