i really like Ito, just hope he doesn’t saturate the market like Spears, Momoko, etc. Sort of happening already.
i get you need to make the loot b/c being an artist is hard as hell, but spreading yourself too thin for exposure isn’t necessary at this point.
Quitana seems to be doing the opposite.
Make collectors thirsty for your work.

That’s because he’s making a killing on whatnot selling signed sketches, or just selling original art.
Probably more lucrative than doing incentives and exclusives right now for him.

DQ recently made $18,000 on an unpublished sketch cover. Wild stuff.
I am now hungry and a bit aroused. Odd.
Even random Ito covers are starting to pop up, this one is on FOC too.

Thank you for making me aware that Ablaze is still putting out a Conan series.
I thought Ablaze had ended the Cimmerian title a few years ago; and only Titan was putting out the Conan books

No problem, I enjoy my Conan as well. The 1st issue should be out next week and I ordered this cover, they are promoting it as “Uncensored” so could be interesting:

I hit a few great sales, and found this for 50 cents (dollar books were all 2 for 1. Actually, 24 for $10). Bought a bunch of SIKTC, Conan, Nightwing, Titans. But found this one, too. My favorite cover of all time. Avengers 167. I got a copy in 1989 when I first started collecting. But, I had to rescue this for less than 50 cents. It’s just perfection, IMO.

It’s it just me or was comic art WAY better in the 80s?

A lot of it was, at least as far as better anatomy, more emphasis on establishing shots for telling the story, and actual backgrounds. There are many very gifted people working in comics today, but you can also see how hands-off many editors are now, and that doesn’t always make for the best reading experience.
I think a lot of manga influence is overdone now, but that’s just the opinion of someone who didn’t grow up loving it.
