His Ultimate Fallout 4 A Good Investement?

I’d only sell my copy if I needed it for some kind of emergency. It’s a long term hold for sure.

I hadn’t checked on this book for a few days. Multiple $1k+ sold listings for raw first prints.

That happened much faster than I was anticipating. Don’t know why I thought it was going to sit in the $700-$800 range.

I cant see nothing wrong with it. Books been on a steady climb and in 10 months are so were gonna have another movie. I see no downside in it.

Buy what you want, you dont want to be the richest guy in the cemetery.

@Mel_V I watched a video recently where you talked about this purchase. You had asked some relatives or kids who they thought Spider-Man was, and then proceeded to purchase the book that same day or following day.

Good stuff and glad you got a copy!

Same, good ol Peter will always be my go to Spider-man. At one time I wasn’t too sure about Miles, though. I did get a handful of UF4 when they were cover price. I figured he would fizzle but people have taken to him in a big way. I’m not complaining. Wish any of the three I have left were a 9.8 candidate but I doubt it. Ya never know with CGC though. Regardless, UF4 is the best overall comic book to own of the new millennium. I wouldn’t be surprised if that 3k investment of yours doubled in the next two years.

Oh I had a bunch of em myself that I sold for around $30 each. I did pick up a CGC 9.4 for $120 a year ago. There selling for a grand in that grade currently. It’s definitely a good investment.

Im thinking of picking up some lower grade ones and cracking and sending them to a presser roll the dice

Took a break from this thread for a bit. Catchy by up now.

So CGC prices jumped again. I’m guessing that’s why. Plus it’s not the coveted 9.6/9.8. Anyone paying CGC equivalent for a 9.6/9.8 CGC is not spending money wisely.

What did you sell it for, and what do CGC prices go for now?

The point is unless it’s a vacuum your comics will deteriorate under sub-optimal conditions.

The desiccant packs is a good compromise. And opening every so often to vent the off-gassing chemicals are good practices I beleive. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. Oh wait…it’s 3 weeks into the future now. Too late!

This book is insane. I dont see it slowing down any time soon.

People talk about a bubble and it bursting. Not gonna happen. Not in the way people are thinking.

The bubble is the economy, not collectibles. All the boomers and 80s kids now finally having some income to spend on what they loved as kids.

So until they lose that source of income (depression/resession/war/famine) the comic bubble follows the nation and worlds economic health.

There may be adjustments, especially with these flash in the pan FOMO short lived MCU characters, but investing in characters with nowhere to go but up (Spider-Gwen & Miles) is never really a bad thing. Get in when you’re ready. Because any “correction” is likely only going to be a $100-$200 at best given what Disney likely has planned for these monster franchise characters.

I agree. Actual keys will hold their value. The flash in the pan characters that spike overnight will inevitably come back to earth.

This is sort of off topic, but within this thread we talked quite a bit about all of the COVID benefits/money/unemployment etc and its impact upon collectible buying.

Well…with the passage of the last/recent Covid plan/package…folks didn’t end up having to pay taxes on their unemployment up to $10,200.

That resulted in (and will result in) another massive injection of money into many folks pockets.
If folks filed early, it will just be given back to them by the Govt…if they hadn’t filed yet=a bigger refund.

I advised both my sons to ensure they had taxes taken out of their unemployment (they listened to me for once)…they both just received a very big amount back because of it.

I understand that folks have mixed emotions on all of this stuff…but the simple fact is that there are many people who are absolutely swimming in money they aren’t used to having due to the stimulus checks and this new tax break on unemployment.

Eh, I’m okay with missing out on it. I could see if he still has it. I got a second print for a good price.
