I Like What I'm Reading (not spec'ing, but like actually reading)!

Same writer who wrote Skyward…that dude loves delays.

Yes I am reading The Lot. It’s very interesting and think it’s gonna get better.

Yeah, I’m still waiting to see if that Skyward series that was “optioned” is ever gonna have anything beyond being “optioned”…

Worth the $6 cover price Anthony?

Are you a horror fan? I don’t know. $6 cover is steep. It’s very noir mixed with horror. I like it but didn’t think of the price.

I like some horror. Depends how it weaves into a story. I looked at the first issue - seemed interesting but the price always makes me hesitant in these indie books unless I see a good review.

Just read Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #1 and thoroughly enjoyed it despite it not having much dialogue, the art and panes told most of the story telling so if you can entertain me with a comic with very little words, you got my attention.

I have access to an advance copy too and was meaning to read it. You’ve twisted my arm and I will!

I preordered the signed A set from Collector’s Paradise where I got my set of Stray Dogs. Cost me $26 shipped.

Just read Monster Kill Squad from Bad Idea, I liked it alot. Good premise and just the right amount of mystery about what happened and is happening to reel you in.

Did we talk about, “Red Room,” at all yet? That comic is like a gory horror movie come to life. Not for the squeamish but quite interesting.

My brother in law told me about it as he was reading it, and I was like, NO THANKS! I don’t even think he could make it through and he is a horror movie buff! I do like the homage covers they are doing though.

I like Catwoman and Supergirl right now. Maybe the best two DC books.

The new Supergirl book is excellent. Very well-paced and thoughtful exploration of the character through her companion’s eyes. I thought it was well-written, and only later realised Tom King was at the helm.

Not a like but more of… WHY? I made it through 8 pages of Gunslinger Spawn #1 and had to stop reading. McFarlane’s dialogue and narrative are horrid. If it wasn’t McFarlane’s name on it, I would think it was an 8 year old boy writing this comic… Buy only for the covers… Ales Kot writes a backup story but this was so bad, I can’t bother scrolling down to find the backup story right now.

turrible

Was Kot’s part okay?

What’s funny is that I just started reading Spawn from issue 1. One issue a day to get me caught up, maybe more.

@BatmanFan That would be fun! I’ve always loved Spawn…for me (which may be good for you and you’ll have to let me know when you get to them)…the very best issues of Spawn ever were # 5, 8, 29, 30.

They won’t win any literature award prizes lol…but with regards to Spawn…anti-heroes and just well deserved vengeance, these issues were, shall we say…killer!!!

Just read Saga for the first time. I don’t remember having such visceral reactions to a comic before. It was super engaging and incredible well written. Definitely gave me the same type of feeling that a shocking cliffhanger would in a movie or TV show as well.

Also, on a more modern indie note… I really like what I’ve read so far in Not All Robots. I could see this as a pretty entertaining TV series, but I think the need for so much CGI could keep it from ever happening. Either way, I’m really digging the read so far.

The new Moon Knight series is also dope as hell and Hunter’s Moon could be here to stay. The art design for him is really slick.

I’m literally on 5 now (started this project just a few days ago. The Spawn Compendium is surprisingly affordable. )

Looking forward to issue 8 as it is written by Alan Moore who wrote my favorite Batman story ( maybe comic book, too?) of all time!
