I like what you got! (Goodwills, Thrift Stores, Yard Sales, ETC Finds)

I was just saying how that comic lot I bought had some nice TMNT in it!

For some reason I looked in my sub box today and that was in there.
I didnt subscribe to it so I am rather curious.

A new reprint of it just released. It is good stuff.

I rarely have garage sale type finds. Actually funny as during a conversation here about that recently, I thought to myself that it’s the one area I just haven’t had a ton of luck with (marketplace, Garage sales).

Saw a post for a garage sale & saw some comic boxes. I saw the post a day late though & nearly didn’t go as I figured there’s no way anything good would be there. Didn’t feel great either…
Well… Glad I sucked it up…$1 a book, all beautiful shape, and, because I bought so much the seller took more off.
I gave him $100 for 120 comics.
Not complaining, but can you imagine the return 4 years ago on this SW stuff?
Big stack of really nice Uncanny X-Men in the 230-260 range (sans any big keys). Nice stack of later run Conan too!
The seller had about a zillion DVDs…wish I knew more about those. I could also tell he tried to price some comics but just gave up (and he told me so). The ones he priced weren’t too out of range, but nothing grail enough for me given the amount of $1 books I was finding.

I’m still a sucker for older Dark Horse Star Wars comics. If I find them in a $1 - $2 bin they come home with me. Nice haul…

Agree. You find SW DH in high grade for $1, especially newsstands, should not pass up. Should be easy flips.

Man, I’ve been hunting for that Jango Fett Open Seasons #1 in back issue bins forever….i have issues 2-4, but don’t want to pay more than $10. Of course one showed up on eBay the other day for $5 and I waited…gone now.

Nice haul.

Great work there.
As mentioned before, nearly all of my purchases now are garage sales and/or flea markets.
To me and for me, it’s my only surefire way of making money anymore. It’s hard to lose with such cheap books

I am so very tired of speculating and being stuck with that proverbial boxes of failed spec.
These $0.50, $1.00, $2.00 yard sales have been significant wins for me at shows and once in a while I even hit some big boy books that sellers have no idea what they have.

Every single weekend and/or Friday I’m on the hunt in the northeast (NY,CT,NJ)

Had success thanks to Craigslist of all places. A lady who buys and sells lots of estate stuff had acquired a chunk of adult comics and didn’t want to list them on Facebook as it can suspend accounts for anything too racy. I offered to buy them and she asked if I wanted some random 2000s-era erotic art books too. I said sure and picked everything up. I made what I spent back on the comics thanks to some folks I know on Reddit who buy mature comics and the art books are actually somewhat valuable/sought-after, to my surprise. Three of them were in a series I’ll edit the name of, but you’ll get the idea, “P**y Portraits,” and the books go for over a hundred each. All the erotic artbooks have a big focus on the female vulva, and people pay decent money for them. eBay even lets some of them get listed as they count as art and not pornography, it appears. What’s the difference? I dunno, but it makes it easier to sell these and make further profit!

It’s funny because I have seen some of the foulest stuff on Facebook and if you report it they don’t take it down. But try to sell an adult comic and they ban you.

Mind you, I have been put in Facebook jail several times.

For dumb stuff too.

A friend posted a picture of a black widow she found in her yard and I got a three day suspension for saying I would burn down the whole neighborhood just to make sure it was dead. Facebook banned me for making threats against her.

Well, you have to admit that is a bit dramatic. What ever happened to just stepping on it?

I just bought a big stack of marketplace books entirely unseen. About a full grocery bag full of unbagged books for $25.

Mostly runs. And fairly beat up.

But, found a few nice books in here!

About 30 Captain America from this run.

A few good Batman books, but pretty beat up.

Ms Marvel is nice.

All in all, $25 well spent.

I don’t like spiders.

First full Damian and first Damian as Batman! Nice.

Is 656 first full? I thought it was 657. I’ll have to double check but I thought Damian was only in a few panels in 656.

I’m more of a fan of catch and release for spiders… they eat all the bugs I normally don’t want around.

I’m the same way. I love spiders a whole lot, doesn’t really bother me one bit. I have one spider in my house that I let roam free, he’s getting fatter every time I see him. Spiders eats bugs and keeps other crawlies away that I don’t want around so this works for me.

I keep them around but the poisonous ones if found will be moved or relocated outside.

I also had a little fuzzy jumping spider I kept seeing in my master bathroom. He kept getting bigger and bigger, even saw him get a bug on the floor once. I haven’t seen him in a while, hope he’s doing okay!

I’m with @Anthony versus you Spider lovers. Fire is the solution. Spiders and wasps.
