wat, I had the whole set of Toyfare theater and tossed them years ago sigh lol
I have like one or two of them. I loved Wizard.

Stopped by a shop I haven’t been to in a while.
They gave me 50% off the priced books and they threw in the Batman for free.
Now that was one heck of a pick up! Way to go!!! Love seeing it!
I’ve become a legit Putri fan. These covers are just so nice in person. And, the Venom Godzilla book is awesome. I sold my only copy, so it’s kinda nice to have another.
Went to this warehouse. Was a little disappointed, as many things were not priced, and they checked prices at the counter. They were nice enough, but I just grabbed books that had low price stickers (Web of Spider-Man was $2) or I knew only sold for cover or less.
I’m not sure what site they were using, they were scanning the cover and said something about last sold price…but some books that should have been cover or less were being priced at double cover or more…and that was the price “after” the 50% discount…so I handed those back.
Walked away paying $15 for this lot. Probably paid too much…I do like my Middleton New Mutants, though.
I won’t be going back.
After wasting my time at the warehouse “sale” I only had about 15 minutes to shop at another place I had not been to in a while. Grabbed all these books for cover, although I think they charged me $6 more than (I added them up after leaving). There were a few more Geiger back issues and a lot of IDW GI Joe’s, so I need to make a list to grab… I also forgot to check for Tim Drake Robins variants. I’ll be making a trip back very soon, for sure.
A shop I don’t normally go to is helping a guy out by selling his collection (hoard, accumulation). He apparently ran up a $30,000 what not bill so they are selling off the bulk. But some good finds in there at $1 each. Came home with two huge stacks.
I smell a video.
He’s such a tease.
Do my videos smell that bad?
Only if they stink.
This was worth the stop.
Always a reminder that much of what we discuss is sort of in our own little comic bubble. Pretty surprised to find some of these at this point.
The Robins were already priced a bit higher at $10 & $12 but this shop always prices stuff higher once it hits back issue bins. Paid $60 for the bundle.
I actually hit a con prior to this stop so the pickup will pay for a chunk of what I spent once sold.
I picked up a couple of Love Everlasting but they aren’t selling for shit
Made the trip back to this new honey hole. Got all the books below for cover.
This completes my Junkyard Joe run.
I thought they had more IDW GI Joes…little disappointed but something is better than nothing.
I like this thundercraker cover by Wildman. The Megatron book (Transformers #22) is the first appearance of Orion Pax in comics.
This book and issue #23 actually sell for decent amounts…and are hard to find. This story arc (Road to Chaos) touches upon the early relationship between Orion Pax and Megatron, which the recent transformer film this past fall is about.
The covers of #22 & #23, as well as 23a (Optimus) and 23b (Orion Pax) pair up as shown below. So that’s also cool.
But be on the lookout for these in your shops for potential flips (these are for the PC for me).
Well Gang…I likely used up every bit of good luck & good karma I had on this one!
So, I decided to make a run to this comic shop in my area that’s about a half hour away. The thing is, it’s really more of a gaming store now than a comic shop, but they do have new comics & pulls, etc. They always just keep boxes of new comics out on the floor and they just remain cover price. I know they have a bunch of old comic back stock, but it is kept in backrooms and really doesn’t seem to be anything they even want to deal with. Last summer they had a big sale, brought a ton of out & I had a heck of a haul.
Anyway, I went there to look for Nightwing, Putri, Robin books as it’s the place I do well with books that heat up down the road like those. Comics just aren’t a focus there.
I was already pretty happy as I found the “World’s Finest”.
I go there routinely enough that I sort of know the boxes, all the titles, and titles I may have a chance of scoring finds.
This day, I noticed some short boxes out, alongside everything else that were new… clearly out, right with everything else. The boxes looked older and I went right into it. Well…whew…my hands were shaking & heart was racing. I saw the Animated Batman stuff and the "no way it’s here…no way. Kept slowly flipping (and hoping)…there it was! These were double bagged and boarded…two books per and clearly never touched since the time they bought & stored.
Thought maybe I was being punked even .
Anyway, I planned on digging for awhile but I stacked it up, paid (cover price) and scooted.
I did specifically say while digging…plenty loud enough & the gal at the counter even acknowledged me “oh…these boxes are new…cool… there’s some fun stuff in these”.
Picture of the comic board as an indicator of how long these books must have been stored.
All are beautiful…1st Harley may be a 9.8
