I Like What You Got! (LCS Finds)

Perfectly alphabetized. I was also surprised.

I feel like we’re the only forum talking about these books. There are sites like CBSI and Covrprice and KCC that reach a large audience, but they rarely mention any of these…if at all.

Not driven by any particular news or sales in large enough quantities to make it on their radar.

That’s good for this community, though.

We keep it on the low.

Had a very good day today at the LCS by my office. This has really become my honey hole for finding things.

Got the following:
Geiger 80 Pg Giant for $4
Geiger Ground Zero #2 1:25 for $10

And a bunch of offbeat stuff like Willow #1 (movie adaptation for $1)
Will show pics later

One thing about a vast majority of books we talk about here is that they tend to be excellent for flipping via online means, but rarely outside of that.
At least in my experience.
It’s sort of great that vast majority of folks aren’t aware to pick the local establishments clean, but those same people aren’t buying at cons.

I saw a friend with a ton of reasonable priced Mora & Putri books we talk about at a local con. Not a single one sold.

Unbagged books were a buck. The Dead Rising 3 was $4 and sells for $25.

I keep the unbagged ones for me and flip the rest for a decent return

I got the 1:25 Issue #1 at Terrificon for $5.

Interestingly enough, the regular covers tend to sell for more than the 1:25s.

I can still double my money On it, so I’m happy

If you made a penny more than you spent after all the fees and shipping or such, you did well, I’d always say.

Driving about an hour away to pick up my wife and kids at the airport. Since they didn’t land until 6pm, decided to do a solitaire comic crawl up in the area.

Grabbed all these from one shop. The first shop I went to. All were cover price except as noted.

I’m thinking I’ll keep the Batgirl 13 and get it signed by Mora at NYCC. I like the yellow background. If only I could find a way to get McCartney’s signature…

Like GI Joe, IDW Transformers can be sneaky flips. Lost Light books, Especially.

Later issues of Mr. & Mrs. X can be good flips as well.

And because I was in a pretty good mood at this point , O decided to grab the Transformer toy. I need to grab a back to the future one now. But loved Knight Rider as a kid. This shop had a pretty pristine box, and was asking FMV so I took it off his hands.

Cool find at my LCS. My shop mispriced the Sonic 1:25. They thought it was a 1:10 ratio so they priced it at $7. :japanese_ogre: goes for $100+, scooped that up like a thief in the night.

Also got the Jessica Jones hip hop cover. I rarely buy things for my PC nowadays but I’ve been looking for this Dekal cover for a good price. Had it for $7. I checked to make sure it was a 9.8 since it’s difficult with the all black cover. Sure enough it was perfect so real happy to pick that up for so cheap.

I felt the same when I recently found this one for $1 at a con. Cool Aja cover I’ll have a hard time parting with.

And, for Sonic books… This is out of my wheelhouse, but people here have talked about Sonic IDW. I know my shop has a pile of them tucked away. Any ballpark advice on what issues to hunt? Looks like just about any incentives do well. But, ABC issues seem to be all over the board on eBay.

Archie. And IDW retailer incentives.

Older open order covers for Sonic IDW are going for decent money and the newer ones are slowly trending upwards… if I see IDW Sonic books for cover or less I’m grabbing them. Good luck finding the Archie series nowadays.
