My wife had another appointment with the surgeon so I took off today. Went to the appointment and then went and ran errands. Finally treated myself to digging through a 10,000 issue collection at a store around the corner from me.
Red hood is a Mora that goes for good money. The Angel Illyria are Jenny Frison covers. War of the Realms is a Diamond Retailer Summit variant. The last book is an ASM 15 Unknown comics variant. Angel is a hard to find retailer variant. Plan to sell these to get my money back.
First vol is an early Joshua Middleton Cover.
Spider-Gwen is another Unknown Comics Variant.
Comics Debut is an Anthony’s Hidden Gems book, Neal Adams doing Spawn that never got released and this contains some of the pages.
Been saying for quite some time on here to pick up Sonic, if you’re just starting now, you’re likely too late. Anytime I’m at shows and ask for Sonic nobody has them and they sell as soon as they get them.
One of my shops has a ton of Archie Sonics priced at $5-10. I’m going to do some digging and see if any of those are worth that buy-in price. If it sells for $50, I’m ok buying at $10.
Where might this shop be? Asking for a friend of course Muahahaha
If they are clean and not mangled like many of them are that I find, grab anything priced at $5. Look up the $10 ones, but you probably would still be in decent shape price wise. Maybe if you buy them all you can make a deal.
In the spring of 2000, Wizard Entertainment released issue #103, commonly referred to as the “Internet Issue.” Fans can explore its content further through podcasts like “Wizards: The Podcast Guide to Comics,” which emphasizes the magazine’s focus on online trends. The issue also revives a nostalgic challenge: purchasing comics via eBay in the year 2000. Officially dated April 2000 but hitting shelves on February 23, Wizard #103 features a special variant cover showcasing Marvel’s Black Widow, illustrated by J.G. Jones. With a cover price of $4.99, it reflects the era’s enthusiasm for empowered female characters. Highlights include an exclusive interview with animation icon Bruce Timm, a “Last Man Standing” matchup featuring Batman Beyond against Spider-Man 2099, and a fold-out poster of Batman Beyond. Other notable elements include a ranking of the “10 Hottest Writers,” sneak peeks at upcoming comics, and a polybag insert titled "Crossgen Primer," which is a key feature, being the first partial cover artwork by Joshua Middleton!
I’ll need to put this on my list of magazines to keep an eye out for. Especially in the poly.
My old LCS caught on and now their Archie Sonic books are priced accordingly… I cleaned out two other shops about 3 years ago. Even got Sonic #98 first Shadow for $25
