Nice Lady Death cover!
It is indeed, Sun Khamunaki cover, was just happy it finally arrived, ordered at the start of the year, think it was meant to release in June but then go delayed due to the lockdowns happening everywhere and then got a new release date of November, LCS finally for the Shipment in.
Grabbed these today
I ventured out to a couple shops I haven’t been to in many months due to covid concerns. Hopefully the precautions I took (and luck) will let me remain covid-free.
- A-Force #1A (2015) – cover price – I think some form of this team will have a Marvel Studios future.
- ASM #53 Tsang – $8 – I like these 1:10 Miles video game covers.
- ASM #55 Gleason – cover price – last shelf copy and fortunately, nice shape. I wasn’t hyped for this cover but it looks better in person with the trade dress.
- Far Sector #1A – $8 – I’ll keep picking these up if the price is right.
- Invincible Iron Man #1A (2016, RiRi series) – cover price – not everyone has caught on to the heightened interest in this book.
- Timely Comics Totally Awesome Hulk #1 – cover price – even as reprints, this and Timely Comics Moon Girl are safe bets.
- Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #6 (2011) – $5 – early Miles unmasked cover
Marvel Spotlight #28 is maybe Fine once it eventually gets pressed/cleaned. Marvel Super-Heroes Winter Special #8 has definite spine and corner wear but it presents well, AND it’s a newsstand. Neither were amazing deals, but priced fairly and I think there is still plenty of upside to both.
These were from the other day. Nothing crazy.
First up, Star Wars grabs. Some drunk wookie has been talking about SWA7, so I grabbed it. The others are first Mara Jade cover (In rough shape but already sold for $15), Rogue One #1 variant and I can’t remember why Darth Vader #13 is in my radar…but grabbed it.
Some Marvel U grabs. Iron Man is a little rough but for $5 I’ll play that spec. The Thors are NM.
Some other Marvel U Spec.
What’s funny is that it is very recently that SW adventures has gotten any notice at all. It is amazing how a sudden spark ignites a book. I’ve been buying those up for awhile and even as recent as a week ago bought a nice copy for a few books…now look at them!
Great grabs!
Yeah, I’ve pretty much cleaned out the LCSs around me from Dark Horse and most Marvel spec. I’m now moving in on SWA and starting to look towards Doctor Aphra as well.
I found these last week at cover price. Something is Killing the Children #2 & #4, Star Wars Darth Vader #7 & #8. Plus this Witcher set #1-#4. This store is more of a card/game store with comics. I usually go every other month and sometimes find so nice things. The have a Boom Card Board display box. I think the two comics I found were mixed up with some other boom comics since I never seen them when I looked! in the past.
I’d say so seeing as those Ahsoka Padme issues are going for $40 each.
They were the reason for the trip. I thought I had seen them there before. Figured I’d grab those and the last copy of A Girl, as that’s doing well, too. Happy to find the SIKTC 2nd prints, as those are warming up now too.
Yeah, considering Mace Windu 5, Darth Vader 14 and Age of Republic Special are all “flash back” cameos of Ahsoka, that book is the true “physical” first in cannon appearance.
Isn’t Clone Wars cannon?
Would be the first “Marvel Physical Canon”… wherever that falls on folks hierarchy.
***Scratch that…forgot…it’s IDW…who knows where it falls lol.
DrunkWooky’s rule is “never count out Star Wars, regardless of the format.”
I don’t even know what Marvel Cannon vs. any other cannon is…
But I thought this book came under marvel’s licensing…so maybe it’s the first Padme and Ahsoka team up that’s driving it up.
It’s Star Wars. It doesn’t have to make sense…(don’t tell @Alana)
No… We should… Her panties will start to unknot a little…
Since SW is the talk of the town, I thought I’d share this. Not inherently valuable, but I love it. Found it just hanging out in a box of old magazines at an antique store the other day. Pretty early (1993) Tales of the Jedi story. I actually love the Indiana Jones aspect as well. Dark Horse International publication.
I went to my local spot to see if I could grab some copies of first Hondo and first Bento. I lucked out. Also found first Magna:
UPDATE: Sorry, I called Embo “Bento”. My bad.
I got a couple of SWA 7 this weekend too! What’s in 16 and 19 and how do you find out?
16 is the first and I think only appearance of the bounty hunter, Bento (pictured on the top cover in the hat) in comics. I tend to review a comic’s contents digitally on less-than-legal means prior to purchasing.
19 is just a fancy cover that I’m a sucker for. Need more Rex always.
UPDATE: Sorry, I called Embo “Bento”. My bad.
