I like that cover.

I agree. Nothing better than birthday cake!

I meant the Detective.

What you got against birthday cake?!

I am more of a pie guy

Apple

Cherry

Blueberry

But don’t try to give me one of those non-fruit pies like sweet potato or pumpkin because I will cut you.

I like ice cream cake.

You know. Now that you mention it. I do like a good ice cream cake.

Went to a LCS that I have not gone to in about 20 years. I found three Strange Academy #1 comics for $20 each. Plus the Avengers 36 that I was hoping to find.

Not a LCS but a local Antique Store. $1 find Blackhawk #56 from 1952. Cover detached and missing parts but a complete issue for $1

Took a day trip with the Mrs. to get her mind off things and hit a quaint little town a few hours away. There was a small “oddities” shop that was also (to my happy surprise) a comic shop. They no longer deal in new comics but must not have stopped too long ago. Thankfully, there was a thrift store close so my wife let me dig.
As I always say, I love the hunt & the Beautiful Mind like flood of books we try to recall lol.
Anyway, nothing too crazy, but some fun finds and also some books that , I personally, have had a tough time seeing in the wild. Everything was a buck or so above cover. Not pictured is a NM set of Sentry 1-5 that was bundled for only 16 bucks and Ice Cream man #6, #8.
The owner was very nice and gave me a discount off the total since I bought so much.

Impressive stuff!

Why can’t I have places like this near me. Too many comics collectors in my area.

I’m plagued with only one shop now in Austin with back issues that go beyond 6 months and its the craptastic Austin Books that I boycott now…

Why not put aside their shady practices and only buy books that you know will make money? That way your sorta getting back at them. I mean your then giving them money but it’s also money out of their pockets.

They have people scowering spec sites… Most of the time its already yanked and on the “recently acquired” wall… But nah, its not worth it. They get no pennies from me.
