Great scene!
Pedro would love those
Lucky. GOSH!
I bought a few of these to try to get a high grade copy from the Heavy Metal Magazine website for $10 each. They are in the 9.0-9.6 range. Shipping took almost a month, but packaging was pretty good. Happy overall ![]()
There are a couple Quintana covers (290 and 312?) that people should keep and eye out for.
Gulivera! I think I spelled that right. A fun interpretation of the classic tale.
This is surprisingly hard to find, maybe there are so many people collecting super-villains you can’t believe ever made the printed page? Was happy to get it for $5.
eBay lot I took a shot on. 22 books for $50, not a steal but like $2.25 a book ain’t bad. Can probably sell most in the $5-10 range, $15ish for a few of them hopefully. Vampi, Witchblade, Lady Death etc usually sell pretty well for me so fingers crossed haha
Is that the Dave Stevens Scarlet Thirst cover peeking out?
Funny you should mention those titles selling well for you. I find I sell more Lady Death and Vampirella titles on Mercari. I just sold a bundle to a guy on Mercari today. Had all the books listed at $25. He offered $20 a book. I sold them straight away. Paid $1 or less for all of them. Took the quick $100 bucks and ran.
No I wish it was the Stevens cover…it’s the Vampirella 1992 one shot from Dynamite, Mike Krome did the cover. I’ve had all kinds of books listed on Mercari and so far my only sales were a copy of Invincible 24 and a copy of Witchblade 55(?) Wizard World East Variant…I get significantly more views on Mercari but next to no sales. Can’t figure it out.
I think it’s the visual nature of the search. eBay is more word specific. People searching by word where Mercari is more scrolling like social media.
Oddly enough of my 10 sales this week 9 of them were on Mercari.
I haven’t sold anything on Mercari for a couple weeks. But have sold 15 items on eBay in that same time frame.
But full transparency I mark things a little higher on Mercari because of how cumbersome it is to print out a label versus EBay.
I also think Mercari is better for some books than others…eBay filters out certain “risqué “ books while a Mercari not so much. So if you are selling those that may boost your Mercari sales numbers relatively. Also I’ve found Beefcake covers sell well on Mercari, which seem primarily to sell to female and Gen Z buyers. For example I’m constantly getting notified of like for Nightwing 134. See the eBay/mercari comparison below.
I’m not sure if that is because more women are comfortable with Mercury, ot maybe it’s a Gen Z thing where how Mercari is set up/scrolling is more a tuned to how they absorb social media.
You might be right about the eBay/Mercari difference being more visual for Mercari, forget nowadays everything is scrolling and swiping not necessarily typing and searching like my 46 yr old self does lol…haven’t tried selling any “risque” books on Mercari but will give it a shot since eBay does love to flag things it shouldn’t.
Just don’t use NSFW in Mercari listing. It will not let you use the term.
People sell old adult DVDs and VHS on Mercari, even. They just block out naughty bits and use careful wording. Educational movies for adults. Adult romance movies. And so forth.
I’m just impressed they drew her with a more, “Normal,” bust. Sometimes, female superheroes in swimsuits have certain features heavily exaggerated. Hell, some male heroes seem to get mighty big bulges as well in their speedos.
