Let your comic sit in a the sun for a bit, and then try to sell it for $1,000,000 as a rare error edition. Oh, and there’s a certificate of authentication! L@@K!!!
Only topped by bad grammar and misspellings in the listing…at least they tried, and didn’t use AI…although maybe A.I. told them “Dude, even I’m not going to touch this book…you’re on your own.”
…and to think there was a time when I thought comic hobbyist/collectors/sellers were savvy, aware, and sharp.
Then I see sale differentials like this (CBCS/CGC) and realize that part of the market is about as foolish, narrow-minded, tunnel visioned, and dumb as dumb can be.
I think part of it is people looking for books will use CGC in their save search…rather than 9.8 which would grab all of the services. So less views = less people to bid it up.
Does anyone know why Silver Surfer 18 is so hot right now? It’s #1 on the cbsi hot 10 and they did research on it and have no idea why it’s selling. There were 70+ sales of it last week.
I bought a restored ASM silver age comic. CGC has it as slight restoration (c-1). I just wanted a nice copy to read for a decent price. Will crack it out when I get it and share the results.
