Sweet. No address sticker!
BTW, cover dated 46 years ago today.
Found a few of my missing autographs too.

All of those are awesome!
I’m not a Trekkie at all, but can’t imagine owning autographs of two OG’s (especially Shatner).
Phenomenal finds
I should have done a screen grab of how many copies were on the census. Seems like a lot more have been added since the US Men’s victory. At least I’m seeing a lot showing up on eBay now.
9.2 is highest on census (1 copy).
The next three are 9.0s.
Apparently if you have a subscription sticker you can get at least an 8.5. I find that odd…
Just realized CGC recognizes the sticker vs non-sticker as official variants. Doesn’t seem right to me as it’s literally a sticker placed over the upc.
But, 9.8s exist for the newsstand version.
Whoa! Mine isn’t graded but it is nice, may have to list.
Nice… unless it’s a really big fan! ![]()
Expect this book to show up on some lists this week. Can’t call it a “hot” book as one doesn’t come up for sale in high grade very often. Other than this 9.6, there are 3x 9.2s and a 9.0.
I tried to put in a 1400 gpb and was denied. But my estimate wasn’t that far off the winning bid.
My 9.4 copy used to be the second single highest graded fore two 9.8s appeared and a few more 9.4s in the last couple years. This sale kind of kills the 9.6 value…having sold for less.
The same seller has submitted the two 9.8s and 9.6. So he has owned every single copy that has graded higher than mine.
Would a press and resubmit help yours?
No. I thought it was a 9.0/9.2 anyway, so I think I submitted at a time when CGC was a bit swamped and more lax on grading. I also had it pressed before submitting.
I think it’s more of a risk the grade would go down. And the paper of these UK magazines was more like newspaper including the cover…so very high risk of damage during pressing.
I’m happy with it…if the other 9.8 white pager goes up I now know what to expect.
The good thing is the higher this book went, the more my 9.4 white page copy was worth…so felt I could splurge a little…
I have a bunch of British Action Force and Captain Britain. I just never thought of the paper quality being an issue because I never thought about pressing them.
Huh. I used to walk past all of the UK magazines editions in my local stores. For me the original US comics were the only ones that were ‘real’! Never figured they would ever be worth anything!
Damn. I have a copy that could squeak by as a 9.8. The newsstands 24 and up do very well in 9.8. Just another example.
I look for Transformers newsstands always, high grade any issue.
Last few sales on the bay. Nothing earth shattering but a snapshot of what people are randomly buying.
“Snake Woman,” was a good series. Virgin Comics had some cool stuff and some junk too.
