James Gunn's Superman movie

Guy Gardner is a character I have never liked. From his name to his hair cut, I just don’t like anything about him. Johnny Storm is another one. The bad boy tough guy show off shtick never appeals to me in comics.

I am very intrigued by Mr. Terrific (Michael Holt). He’s a cool character. Very deep, philosophical, brilliant. Good back story. I like that he interacted with Spectre. I like that his darn 1st appearance is hard as hell to find & I’m happy to have even one copy.

I’m also excited to see how they handle Metamorpho…also a cool character.

What I really hope not to see is a one & done, disposable type thing with them.

Not particularly fond of Guy Gardner myself, however…if he can bring the correct arrogant attitude or humor he will work.

I’m strangely optimistic.

So for someone who knows absolutely nothing about “The Authority” or “Stormwatch” (I had mentioned that before and actually asked for the trades for Christmas presents…is there anything in the trailers or easter egg type stuff alluding to these properties?

I know they are supposed to be forthcoming…just curious. I wouldn’t even know them if I saw it.

If Clark decides to save his father from impending death, I’ll consider this movie an upgrade instantly over that other dumbass movie. Some hero
To this day, I can’t think of a more idiotic aspect of a story. It’s a scene that should have been written for Dumb and Dumber

As an aside…I absolutely love John Williams Superman score (who doesn’t I suppose). I actually have that on my playlist to work out to even. As legendary as it gets for a film theme.

Having said that, it is pretty amazing that I feel that Hans Zimmer’s score for Man of Steel is just about darn near equal to it. Really haunting, beautiful and emotion invoking. Perfectly done and I’ll miss hearing it in films involving ole Supes.

I read quite a bit of Stormwatch and The Authority…did not really see anything eluding to them yet. Of course I was so hyped about Krypto so…

You’re not the only one.

This book/cover is classic Ross and should never be in dollar bins, much less back issue bins for cover. But you can still find them. It has popped up in spec lists in the past few years…but not really pumped until now.

My copy is not Nm, but I got it cheap a while back. Been looking for an Upgrade in bins for years and never seem to find it. But some of you might.

That score certainly brings up a lot of great feelings for me when I hear it. Childhood watching the movie, running around with a towel or blanket as my cape… Good times for sure!

Just like with comics…Superman (Reeves) really started the trend that super hero comic book movies can be successful.

It could not have been done better for the time frame it was created.

Been looking for this, can’t find it.

Picked one of these up for $4 this week at my LCBS. Such a great cover.

I don’t really collect Superman, but when that issue first came out the cover was too good to pass on.

The trailer looks promising. Trailers can make good stuff look bad or bad stuff look good, however. I always exercise caution for that reason. I’m cautiously optimistic.

Trailer was garbage. The movie looks mediocre. This plays out like James Gunn’s Greatest Hits. He’s a cliched director that follows the same pattern/story dynamics as his previous movies.

Henry Cavill was the best Superman.

looks ok, i like there’s more characters in it but i’ll just wait for it on HBO Max.
