If you were going to see the movie anyway, it wasn’t a bad deal. I’d have done it.

1/1000 and numbered. I bet more than 1000 of those milk bone books were printed.

I believe you will be correct with it not being a bad deal.
I think the print was numbered though? Not the comic?

I was debating buying it and I guess the market decided for me that I ain’t getting it. I’m gonna go see the flick though–I just won’t have a hat!

Until someone does a second printing or they reuse the cover art…

Somebody is gonna sell both this and the Fandango one as an absurdly priced combo.

That’s super, man!

Well, yeah.

ā€œuniqueā€ worries me a bit because I do want this movie to be good and do good. I will give it a shot though.

I’m most excited for this out of the Summer flicks. Even when James Gunn is only, ā€œGood,ā€ he’s still better than most other filmmakers these days.

Just finished watching all the Superman Reeves movies to prepare for the next one… don’t feel I need to watch the others (despite really liking Man of Steel)… It’d been awhile since I’ve watch Superman III and IV, not realizing how cheesy they were but damn, brought back some great childhood memories.

I liked Richard Pryor…he couldn’t save the movie from the horrible script, but he was alright

I always the Beltric acid was lava.

I saw it, and it’s a mixed bag.

Pros:
The cast is uniformly excellent. There’s a very human tone throughout (and it’s unsurprisingly talked about in terms of how Superman defines himself) with all the characters, good and bad, and that felt like the successful shift Gunn and DC were going for.

Cons:
I appreciate a leaner 2 hour runtime, but I think this movie tries to do too much in that span of time. Or maybe I’m too used to decompressed movies now. It just felt messy to me while watching. It was entertaining enough, but I didn’t leave with a sense of ā€œI can’t wait to see this againā€.

FYI: neither the mid-credit scene nor post-credits scene are must-sees. They are fun but fluff.

I literally just got back from Superman, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was awesome, though my wife could NOT STAND Fillion’s haircut :joy:. Guy was funny and there some hilarious hard light constructs later on!

Luthor finally (as far as movies go) felt like a real threat to Superman. Hawkgirl I think was the weakest of the Justice Gang characters despite being one of my favorites in comics, but she had some kick ass scenes. Mr Terrific was Fantastic (pun intended) and made me laugh, cheer, and it showcased just how formidable he really is! Superman felt relatable and very much is his own Superman (by that I mean not trying to emulate Reeves or put a thumb in the eye of Cavill). There is just something about seeing Superman in pain on screen or in comics that tugs at my heart. I liked Lois and Clark’s relationship. There is even a minor Omniman/ Viltrumite angle to the story later on. that felt like a welcome hurdle for Supes to have to clear. I didn’t really dig the suit, too many lines on it but the S shield was a nice departure without being foreign to the character. Ultraman was kind of the lamest part of the movie TBH. I wish the actor who played Jimmy Olsen got to let go a little bit more, but his style of humor really landed for me. I thought the actor was great in Santa Clarita Diet and it was good to see him do his thing as Jimmy.

I likely won’t see it in theaters again but I’ll stream it often when it hits Max.

You guys are really making me feel like I should go see this. If anything support what Gunn is trying to accomplish what past DCU movies could not even get off the ground.

I’ve heard mostly positive reviews from comic/Supes/DC fans…which is good. Most meh reviews have been from people paid to be critics (or going for click bait).
