James Gunn's Superman movie

Quite possible. And I would be fine either way.

Cleaning up the topic. Let’s keep it to the Superman movie, not the political drama and whatever else is going on. You all feel free to take the discussion to private messaging if you like but anything else about Gaza, Isreal, we’ll just start handing out bans… Thanks.

Hey guys, I have been offline mostly due to my wife’s surgery and come back to a big argument over the Superman movie and politics. I cannot stress enough to just leave the political BS off the forums. It has been cleaned up before I got here but I am really asking to just leave it be and discuss comics. This kind of stuff is way too divisive and I just do not want to do it.

I got to see it today. Mid level movie. Not Marvel Phase 4 bad but I wouldn’t consider it great. It just felt kind of sloppy. The funny thing for me was, I can’t stand Guy Gardner in the comics (not Marvel’s Paul level of hate but I really never cared for the character at all) but in the movie, I thought he was the best part. I didn’t care what Supes and Lois were talking about, I just kept laughing at the big green baseball bat smacking the plot device outside the window. I’ll give Gunn credit, he is trying something different with the DC universe. I hope I never have to hear Hawkgirl again.

Precisely my sentiment.
Mid level… and we’ve become very accepting of mid-level with the rash of disasters for the last several years.
The new paradigm shift we’ve created in our heads for superhero movies is Mid-level = High Level

One of my favorite scenes was Mr. Terrific kicking ass outside the portal and they played ā€œ5 Years Timeā€ from Noah and the Whale (great band)… I think I enjoyed Mr. Terrific the most!

Seconded!

Mr. Terrific was a great part of the movie. Gunn got to reuse his Yondu moment from his bag of tricks, lol. I’m not super familiar with the character, though. Does he usually fly around in that T car thing in the comics or was that a movie thing?
