It’s probably the first one in that list, just joining the partner program makes you revenue through youtube.
The basis for monitization is 1k subscribers with 4,000 hours of views in the past 365 days. My 9 year old does Lego videos and has goals of getting monitized. The key to making money on YouTube is 10 minute videos or longer. I used to be monitized on YouTube until they changed the requirements. Needless to say I was just under with videos averaging 1,000 views or less.
FYI monitized means that YouTube shows ads either pop up or video. Once you are monitized you get a percentage of the ad revenue.

I officially have turned into my parents…but instead of yelling at my kids for watching too much TV or putting away the Nintendo, it’s YouTube and personal devices with screens…
Yup. Too much screen time is still bad for you on all types of levels. WALL-E is our most certain future so we’re all pretty much F’ckd as a species I think since it’s happening way faster without the tech to get us to PLANet B!

I honestly don’t give two shits about Jim Comics. I don’t watch him and the stuff I have seen, it’s already known or been talked about for those that are already paying attention.
As for the video, he does seem to say “show” instead of “sold”. The closed captions claim “show” as well. So it’s not @Anthony calling anyone a liar, he just heard the video wrong. No reason to get your undies all knotted up over, Anthony wasn’t calling anyone a liar. Just seems like an honest mistake in what he heard on the video.
So shall we get back on topic? I think that’s the best course of action at this time.

Most people speculating comics sell comics. Who really cares as long as a person doesn’t pump up a book only to sell personal copies. I don’t watch Jim or anyone else on YouTube. Well sometimes music or nature videos or camera/lens reviews but never someone talking comics.
I often watch old comedy show skits on YouTube.

I like Jim. And his Jim Comics videos. He seems like a dude that just really likes collecting comics. And, I don’t care one bit whether he sells any books.
I’d like to look through his collection. He seems to have a ton of great books.
