“Sold”….are “showed”? Can you point to when In the video he said he sold some books? I’ve listened to the video a few times and can’t find when he said this…I only heard “showed”.
Also, I didn’t recall people here who said He did not sell books. Only one previous post talked to it that I found. Many point out that he gives interesting spec and he comes across as not having and agenda in his videos, from what you can tell from his approach. I would agree with that.
Start at the 1:27 mark. He says he pulled out some of his older books from the 1980s and sold them. My point is not to criticize him, just to show that people who said he doesn’t even sell books, which has been said in the past, that he does sell books.

And he did show them. He’s talking about the evolutionary war annuals for the 80s. Towards the end he talks about those very books and the bags/boards being the original, puts them in front of the camera and talks about them and not being worth anything (cracks a joke about how everyone needs speedball in their collection) and moves on.
So I don’t hear what you hear. He does kinda mumble it so I can see how it’s debatable…but I believe what he follows up with at the end supports that he said “show” not “sold.”
Again, not saying he doesn’t sell…I don’t have evidence for one or the other.

I have listened to it several time. I heard sell. Point is, not trying to discredit, or take away from the info, just showing what I heard.
he buys multiple copies of some books, that tells me everything i need to know.

We need JimComics to come to the thread and end the speculation. He obviously reads CHU as he has mentioned drunkwooky on numerous occasions. Come out of hiding Jim!
BTW I know the comic shop that Jim shops at. It’s about an hour out of town for me. Been there a few times but haven’t run into jim yet. Good shop with an excellent back issue section. It’s the only shop in town too.

Yes. As I said above I found only one post that made the claim, which was the one you found. Your prior statement eluded to more than one person having said he doesn’t sell books…that wasn’t how I remembered earlier conversation…So I went back to see who they were and I couldn’t confirm the claim in this thread, so maybe these other claims are buried in another thread?
That is true. But how is that different than Anyone else who shares information on the CHU forum about future spec?

we don’t have YouTube and Instagram accounts that are being used to pump books to sell them to are own community for more money
I have seen the statement previously on here, I do not have the time to go through the entire forum looking for comments. Needless to say, I do not care if he sells comics or now, and not trying to discredit what he says on his videos. Silly a point that I heard him say he sells comics.
I sell comics, its not a big deal, not going down the rabbit hole arguing it though.
Doesn’t matter if it’s just 1 or 50, someone said he doesn’t make money off comics and we all know that’s not true. The guy has a youtube following, he’s likely making money off just talking about comics if he wasn’t actually selling any, which is then making money off comics.

So you have evidence of what he’s sold…and that these books he sold he spoke of were “pumped” by him.
Because the statement above appears to Categorize everyone who talks comics on social Media is pumping and dumping…no other possibility. It

Seems a bit over the top.
I get the “proceed with caution.” But I’ve uncovered nothing to back up accusations against Jim.
I’ll leave it at that. Because I’m clearly not going to get any of that evidence here and people have already made up their minds anyway.

I gave you evidence. He’s likely not buying BMW’s from the revenue but if he’s got people watching his videos on YouTube, that’s essentially “making money off comics” since that’s his focus.
Like I said, I have no issue with him selling. My issue was with person or people saying he doesn’t sell.
Everybody sells at some point. What’s the big deal?
He spec’s on comics, offers that spec online, people either run with it or not. Unless it’s faulty spec, again, what’s the big deal?

I’m not a YouTuber, so not sure how one makes money there posting a 20-30 minute video 1-4
Times a month.
He has 12.1k Subscribers. He looks to average about 5-6k view for each video. I don’t see any affiliate links or adds…I don’t recall them popping up during his videos either. Am I missing something?
Trying to figure out how to base an estimate…more personal Curiosity than anything. My kids want to be YouTubers when they grow up 
…they think they’re all rich!
You know there’s people who have made millions by just being “Youtubers” posting videos right? Now, 12k subscribers isn’t gonna make one rich but he’s making money by just providing content on YouTube.
