Im shaking my head at this vid. Dc villain spec is a no go for me. One shot horror anthology is a no go for me. Incidentally “the feeding” copies are sparse now. Jim has a tendency to hail these books as spec based on print runs. Its not under the radar when nobody was interested in the first place, and Nobody will care in a few months. Also, ‘creative team released a hot book 4 years ago’ spec is a no go. Its more of a trap.
But it was a Dirty D Indy Spotlight book at FOC…that’s gotta mean something…
It means Jim is late to the game! Go to the Dirty one to get the intel early…
From the team of David M Booher and Drew Zucker of Canto fame. So you know the story and art will be good. And it’s only a one shot, so not a big investment!
You know this Jim guy seems like a good guy. Love his enthusiasm for comic books, not the best speculator though hehe.
However his followers love him and he does move the market so it’s a must watch to unload our dollar bin books.
Crazy that Wolverine #3 will be exactly 50 years since Hulk 181. Think he’s right about there being a big 1st in it?
“Adamantine” just doesn’t seem like it has much staying power.
Having watched a few now I do actually enjoy the video but I don’t understand the 3 books in the background. He sometimes doesn’t even reference why they are there. He did it last week, one book was the first app of Nightwing but I had to look it up, what is the reason for the Zinnober in the middle?
Yeah, he’s done that every video he’s posted since he re-emerged a few weeks ago….
Blasphemer! Heretic! Lmao JK
His videos don’t bother me, any youtuber that is talking comics and not embracing drama I’m down with. That said he’s low on the list of videos I get to if I get to it at all on a weekly basis.
I think the dude just likes talking comics and showing off what he’s got. Nothing wrong with that.
Does he sell on eBay that we know of?
I don’t watch any comic YouTubers so I can’t comment. I just am too impatient to listen to somebody when I could use my fast reading skills to simply read an article. I do like some comic TikToks where folks share random comic-book trivia tho. Those are brief and good for my short attention span.
Jim definitely has the enthusiasm of a tried and true collector of comics, and that makes him fun to watch. The whole thing about his fake rivalry with Nick from the Key app is corny, but maybe that’s what he’s going for. And the three books thing seems like something he’s done well before his latest return from seclusion. This dude goes into seclusion more than Bobby Fischer did.
Nice. I have that Spawn 221 signed by Mcfarlane. Finally, its going up in price…
Favourite quote of the week:
“You might be saying, Jim, why would I wanna buy that book” when he was talking about The Carlyle School for Kings. Awesome.
Once again puts two comics up in the background and makes no mention why he is featuring them…
