I like Jim. I like his videos. He’s just excited about books. Has he influenced my purchase habits? Not one single bit. And, that’s ok. I still like the videos.

he probably is, i think his vids are added cause whether we like him or not. his vids and books he mentions move sales, his brain dead viewers buy on his recommendation

He should. Is it my house and go through my sale boxes for books to mention. So I can sell them.
This. Although I don’t think he’s moved the needle much since his return from hiatus.
But I highly doubt he wanders around here. He seems to be buddies with KCC and Comic Tom, to name others.

I do like being reminded that we’re all awesome, though…
I think this is the reason I inquire about it. During the pandemic years and a little after, the guy was gold. Now he’s just 1 YouTuber among many and I don’t think he has much sway. So it made me wonder why he gets a topic all to himself and his new videos posted still.
Oh well.
Looking back I think it was just a post of a video of his…not intended to be recurring…it just ended up that way.
If someone else started a thread about another YouTuber who specs on new books, probably it wouldn’t surprise me if new videos kept getting posted as well.

I will be honest here. I feel like it is essentially free advertising for someone who isn’t even a member on here. The forum is open post what you like, I mean I see people posting Swagglehaus videos on here and other stuff, but it certainly seems like free advertising for him.

It’s about finding the time. That’s the biggest thing. I still want to do an end of the year pickup video on what I spent the $1000 I had and got some killer books.

Maybe in addition to pickups, do a monthly post FOC video. Like the top 10 most likely to heat up from the entire preceding month of @D-Rog picks. Will make it easier for you to generate content and would also be pretty interesting. Don’t think anyone is doing something like that.
I was thinking of doing a catalog video. Hit them before FOC. I am not sure people are doing them.
I do remember when I started doing FOC posts and people were getting all pissed. Now everyone does an FOC post and spec is still alive

I really enjoy the catalogue posts but a video would be cool so we could see our benevolent overlord in action!
That reminds me…gotta get my FOC write-up put together…why do I wait until Sunday evening to do this…?
