FROM OUT OF THE ONI VAULTS…AND INTO THE OMNIVERSE! Offered for the first time on Kickstarter, we’re digging through the best of Rick and Morty covers past and present for alternative shelf covers, rare incentive variants, even some long-tucked-away convention exclusives … to create an extra-schwifty selection of five (5) variant covers in each rare and randomized blind bag!
That was the description for one of the add-ons for the Rick and Morty Omnibus I backed awhile ago. They were $20 so I got 3 of them, and this is what I got.
Only ONE comic was not a duplicate. Some other backer got 8 and the same thing happened to him and we were both complaining in the comments along with many others. Oni sent me a message asking if I wanted more comics or a refund I took the refund.

No not much value, they all are newer comics from the last 2 or 3 years, some from SDCC and NYCC. From the description I was expecting some really older stuff.
Here is one that I am backing. Can’t go wrong with Cullen Bunn.

I have never had a Kickstarter ask me to pay shipping after the pledge. Normally it’s built into the price. Is this normal?
I had that happen with one where they used this other company to fulfill shipping and they had an additional tariff price because of the implementation of tariffs after the campaign. It was for these Care Bear trading cards that we will be receiving soon cause they just sent out the fulfillment.
The last 3 kickstarters I’ve pledged, the shipping is during the survey.

This was for the Shubine Mercy Sparx covers. I think they are being released through regular retailers which really burns me up and will be the last time I back their kickstarter.
I usually go in on the MST3K and Rifftrax Kickstarters and IIRC they have always charged shipping far after the pledge drive once they have all the rewards ‘stuff’ and they send out a survey for shirt sizes and preferences, offer you the option to buy more stuff with your order, and then charge the shipping so they can send it all at once.
I’m not sure if including shipping is the norm or not, but I’ve gotten pretty used to shipping being a separate charge basically everywhere else so I never thought twice about it from Kickstarter.
