I like that method my shop does the limit 1 on hot books.
Itās very effective in allowing non speculators to grab their books they want. The argument that āyou should have put it on your pull or sub listā is mootā¦ itās just an excuse for the shops who jack up their prices to make more profit. The funny thing is, those same retailers who jack up the price are the definition of double standardsā¦
āI raise my price to sway away the flippersāā¦ so they become the flipper themselvesā¦ itās like, give me a break.

Well, I think this week is certainly going to be a very good Litmus test with regards to the situation. This will be a biggie and at this point, I canāt imagine anyone (buyer or seller) not being aware of this book.
If you got a LCS like that I recommend taking a bag of dog shit with you next time you go open it up and smash it between two comics in a long box of books.

This retailer turned speculator is relatively a new phenomenon, at least on a large scale. I didnāt really witness it myself until Captain Marvel 8 last year, although there were grumbling going back to Batgirl 23 when shops were suddenly āshortedā by Diamond. The second time I saw it was Batman 89 and Hell Arisen 3ā¦even MCS got in on the fun and started out about double cover.
Itāll be interesting to see what MCS does Tuesday night.
My opinion is Shops can do what they want, and you can either choose to shop there or somewhere else.
Obviously if they piss off enough of their regulars, pull lists or not, their just biting the hand that feeds them.
And if they turn off newbiesā¦well, that may work against them too long term.
