Aren’t 3 of those covers just regular covers?

I hate blind bags and usually don’t participate in these kind of offerings, but isn’t it possible that this one does well? I can see a handful of these covers being desirable, and if any of them are ratio variants (like say 1:100), couldn’t that create a chase for the cover? I guess I’m looking at this from a perspective of the sports card industry where people will pay a lot for a chance at the Skenes or Ohtani 1/1, and Fanatics is printing a boatload of cards so I’m not sure the print count argument means anything. I’m also hesitant to compare this blind bag to other recent prior blind bags because let’s face it, those ratio covers were awful. I guess it all depends on which covers are “rare” and how the comic consumer approaches the market on them in the secondary market. Just saying, maybe it doesn’t hurt to purchase a few handful and see where it goes.

I like a great deal of them, but a vast majority appear to me as if they are 3/4 finished? Clearly he won’t be putting in his all for this many covers and I think it really shows.
Granted, we’re not seeing the finished product, but so many just feel sort of “off”. Maybe just my eyes…

I think it can also do TOO well and hurt any long term value if you care about that… Mark said there shouldn’t be more than 7% of the print run for any cover. By cover I think he means unique art. With 30+ pieces of unique cover art that should put the percentage around ~3% split between cardstock and foil covers, excluding the rares and incentives. Someone feel free to double check my guesstimate. If we take this 3% estimate, and his 200k print run estimate, which I think is a low estimate. Each unique cover art will possibly have 6k copies, split between card stock (3k) and foil (3k) which is UNDER what Monsters #6 open order variants were but still pretty high for an Indy variant. Will it be fun? Yes. Will anyone get rich off of this? No. Mark will get a nice payday which is cool.

I think the situation is pretty fluid, Mark has said he wants to keep the variants low in print count. Once he sees the pre-orders he may need to add covers.

I didn’t do Battle Beast blind bags and that was interesting to watch from the sidelines. But Mark Spears doing a blind bag? I’m absolutely in

I’m at 35 so far but I will pre-order more. Give me Monsters!!!

The print run will more than likely be huge, I don’t know, maybe 250k? More? Even if the initial print does get to a quarter million with 75 covers, how many of them will be standard? If it is around 50 that will put the print run at right around 5k each, give or take. That isn’t a lot. Not every cover will be a winner and some will be more sought after than others with a handful be the most wanted. It’s a gamble, but a fun one. If you can read the room fairly well you might be able to pick up those more popular covers at or a little above cover after everyone opens their lottery ticket…I mean blind bag.

I still think these blind bags haven’t found their stride yet. Spears is the closest. But, I’m looking forward to when there’s some true cards-like gambling involved. A new Spidey #1 hits, for example. 50 signed books. 5 blanks with Dell’otto spideys custom drawn on. 1 with Tobey McGuire’s signature on a custom cover (ok, maybe not that). But, stuff like that.

Then you’ll sell some books. You wanna get nuts! Let’s get nuts!

I’m really hoping there will be some unique finds in there. He’s keeping his cards close to his chest but I’ve heard him say on a youtube show there could be redemption type things in there. I really hope he throws in some autos at least, and maybe some remarks.

I seen some guy selling 100 of these for $300 through media mail with free shipping.

You guys are forgetting the Sex Criminals Blind Bags that had a chance for a random sketch in them. Those were the first really good ones. The Harley with one of three covers wasn’t terrible and I still have some. There was also the Walking Dead ones that had chances of multiple covers. But the Sex Criminals one was the first best. (Even though the sketchers weren’t great)

The number of random, sponsored ads for these Spears blind bags is incredible. Facebook, Instagram, etc. I can’t recall ever seeing this much ad spam to preorder a comic book.

It’s amazing. One book is gonna save the comic industry. Lol. Not really but KEENSPOT and Mark Spears are about to make a lot of money.

i still dont understand the “pack odds”
cover a is in 30 something
and the rest of more common covers are one of 30 something each to ?

please note im to lazy right now to scroll up for exact numbers

and the 1st incentive variant is 250 copies for incentives ? that is sooooo nice

I think it changes as we get closer to cutoff because he is adding covers. What he says also doesn’t match up to what Lunar is showing. He may have made the Foils (foil versions of the 30+ different base covers) easier to get with 1 in every 14 packs. He said they are being produced in a way that they will be mixed up so if you buy 10 you won’t get 10 of the same cover. He said he is also doing Christmas blind bags.
