Mark Spears Covers

I guess I could see both sides but to me, it’s technically reusing when it’s announced after the fact. If consumers didn’t know about it when doing the original ordering or announcement of the issue, that’s reusing in my opinion.

And you basically stated it right here:

No. I reached out when I vacationed in Maui last fall,
Looking for tips for local comic shops. Never heard from her.

Turns out there is only one shop on Maui anyway, and it was quite a dive. I see why she ordered online almost exclusively.

As predicted, Monsters 3 is going to be a big win for Mark Spears, but not for the flippers. Think I’m sitting back on his books until I receive my kickstarter haul (hopefully this year).

Both KRS and Comic Mint were sold out in under 10 min (when I checked them both), demand seems to be steady even despite the higher number of books.

Can’t really go by that unless they release the unique number of consumers buying (which they’d never do)… for all we know, just a few select bought most if not all of them to flip and control the market, creating false demand…

I just scrolled through the listings for this book (ROTLD 1 - Spears) and my finger hurts.
There were more listings than there is sand on a beach. And they can still be purchased!!??? :man_facepalming:

Not purchasing a book for $4.49 so that I can sell it for $10 and after Ebay fees; just to be able to buy one thin mint.

I agree with your post, but it angered me because now I want some thin mints…

Not everyone knows where to find comics other than eBay. Shit. I have sold a couple for $15 so I have broken even and everything else is profit from here on out.

Bird City Comics landed a Mark Spears Bridezilla cover, not signing up to Instagram to see it though.

Kept changing colors…not sure what that means…annoying though.

I thought the middle one was the yellow negative variant

I’m waiting for this to end. Way too many people looking at this as another cover art opportunity to pump and dump. The hype market is functioning quite well though. Too bad the hypers are just selling to eachother for now, lol. I won’t be holding this bag though - but it has been a loong painful watch. Mark did win though. props to him.

The second his product was whored out via exclusive shops is the second I put my orders to 0.

Every good thing comes to this.

Great thing
Whored out/Sell out

Kitchen sink ownership
Loss of $$$
Overall loss of interest.

Very sad in this hobby, but we create the Monster (so to speak)

I have still been selling his covers but am scaling back myself. I do still pick up his work for the pc because I enjoy it though.

And I have made a hell of a lot of money off his covers.
